Most people will find this disgusting, but... As far back as I can remember I have always craved vinegar. I used to hide in the pantry and sip in out of the gallon container (when I was little). Once I start thinking about it, I can't get it out of my head unless I satisfy the craving. If I smell vinegar my mouth starts to water and I HAVE to have it! I dilute apple cider vinegar with water (1/1) and sip it throughout the day (it usually doesn't last long). I know it isn't good for the liver in large amounts...So, I only splash some into a coffee cup (about 1-2 tbs). I also don't have it every day. Does anyone else have this strange craving or know what or if it means anything?

LOL it's funny I used to DIE for pickle juice and as a kid I used to put the pickle juice in ice trays and make Popsicles out of them! I eventually grew out of it though. I wonder what it is about vinegar that makes us crave it.

Check this out! I did a google search for vinegar cravings and I found this "women craving vinegar" blog: www.reference.com/motif/health/women-craving-vinegarAlso I remember reading something a long time ago that apple cider vinegar helps balance insulin levels and it's good to take a shot of it before a meal.

Haha.. My husband likes to make pickle-pops... I hate when he does it because my freezer smells like pickles for weeks!! lol He decided one day that he likes pepperoncinis too, and so he wanted to make pepperoncini-pops. He was so excited he put it in his mouth, sucked the juice out, and just about died coughing and gagging. I couldn't stop laughing. His reaction was priceless.
Thanks for that link. The craving might be linked to my low iron. I have had low iron since I was a baby (my mother failed to mention this to me until I was a sophomore in college... but that's a story of it's own lol).

LOL this is so funny. I'm glad I'm not the only weirdo that does this! Although, I don't do it anymore....
The craving is probably something you're lacking. Salts maybe? The iron like you said? Could be a lot of things.

well at least apple cider vinegar is healthy for you!!
I'm with Jenaya--I ALWAYS pay attention to cravings. All of my cravings end up being things that endo girls really need (for instance, kale--iron, lots of other vitamins, things that are anti-estrogenic). I'll be at work, doing something normal, and all of a sudden this huge NEED for KALE will descend on me. Kale is all I can think about. I buy kale by hte garbage-bag-full at the ghetto wholesale farmers market in my 'hood. It's hilarious. So keep eating your vinegar!

Vinegar makes my mouth water too when I smell it, but that may be because it's usually on chips! (Fries). And yes I do believe that cravings tell us what we need to ingest.
