I love the smell of patchouli... I may have to try that Tropical Traditions stuff. It seems like such a waste to be working so hard to eat all the right foods, only washing my clothes/hair/body/dishes with stuff that doesn't harm me, and then throw it all away because of deodorant.

Ok... So, I have been reading a lot about there being some kind of link between endo and allergies. Does this correspond to seasonal allergies as well? My allergies started when I was about 13 (coincidence?) and they have been getting worse and worse every year. I have had continuous allergy problems for more then 6 months now. With no break! How many of you have "seasonal" allergies? Have they gotten worse? What do you take to manage it? The allergy pill I am taking now helps nada. I wake up at about 4-5 in the morning (like clockwork!)coughing, sneezing, eyes watering, etc, etc.

Hi!
Me too! I developed late allergies, mine didn't come on until my late 20's and then seemed to get worse. Dust, and the regular grass, mold, pollen set me off. I have been so sick the last 3 days, phlegm like crazy, coughing, sore throat - awful. Lilacs really irritate me and they are blooming like crazy right now. I take as needed Allegra 1x a day and use my neti pot and also astelin nasal spray by RX. I also use some eye drops that I get over the counter, they start with a Z, can't recall what they are called at the moment but they are with the allergy stuff.

I started having periods twice a month in March and ended up in the emergency room twice because of severe allergic reactions on the first days of the period - I itch like a dog all over, get weeping inflamed hives and a few times i've started to get wheezy and swell. I've also been shedding hair (i've cut my shoulder length hair to a pixie crop because i started to look bald)and growing thick dark hair on my face and other parts of my anatomy (I'm blonde)..My new obgyn has put me on a birth control pill called 'Lo Loestrin Fe' as a temporary measure to stop the twice a month menses from hell. I've only been taking it a few days and the itching/hives have stopped.Yeah, I'm a bit scabby post hives, but it's clearing up. The only deodorant I can tolerate is the crystal rock body deodorant stick. I used to use the all natural Tom's of maine stuff but started reacting to that too. Rhodygirl: for immediate soothing skin relief get some Aveeno soothing bath treatment sachets (Walgreens and CVS has them), if you can't get them buy a huge bag of organic rolled oats and put them in a blender until it looks like instant oatmeal (very fine) - either tie it up in a toe of an old pair of pantyhose and use as a soothing cool bath soak or mix with cool water as a thick face mask. It's really soothing and calmed down my face and body when i've felt like tearing off the skin. Yes it's messy and you smell like oatmeal To stop the hives getting infected and the crusty/peeling you describe i use an anti microbial lotion on my face called Dermol500, it's for people with severe eczema/dermatitis - Unfortunately I bought it in the UK. If you can't find anything like it here, message me and i'll pump some of mine into a bottle and mail it to you. Good luck! x
