I’m a huge fan of Dr. Oz and I was watching his show and he had all these tips/tricks as far as supplements for getting rid of fat from different parts of the body. I work out like crazy and still have belly fat. One of the supplements he suggested was GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) 1000 mg per day. I THINK that this is also called evening primrose oil or borage oil. Apparently this stuff not only helps to get rid of belly fat but it’s got anti inflammatory properties. I did a search on GLA and endo and it’s highly recommended. Does anyone currently use GLA? I’m curious on brands etc.

I know we've had in-depth discussions about EPO and Borage Oil, but I think it was within the context of vitamins in general. GLA is the main component in both and is an essential fatty acid. I know I posted this somewhere, but I can't recall where: www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/gamma-linolenic-000305.htmWe've had some members not do so well on EPO. It's supposed to be good for inflammation and for helping to balance moods but I didn't notice any changes when I was on it for a while. As for belly fat, I hadn't heard that before. I tend to believe belly fat is likely bloating due to a food sensitivity, nutritional deficiency, and/or hormonal imbalance more than anything, and if you don't get to the root of the cause, it's pretty hard to make a dent in it. But that's just my experience.

Thanks Karen! I did check online and did a search on endo and GLA and actually they said it might not be so great, same thing with the borage oil, primrose. I guess it can cause increase in estrogen, I didn't spend much time reading up on it. I'm not going to take a chance. Trust me, I can pinch more than an inch so it's pure belly fat sadly. I wish it was just bloating. I have no idea. I did read that stress causes increased cortisol levels and that cortisol goes direct to the belly and it holds onto the fat there. It's so frustrating because my energy is up, I am also upset that with being on the endo diet that I haven't lost much if any weight. I keep reading stuff that people drop tons of weight from these diets and I'm like why aren't I? I'm eating right, working out and doing it all - why am I not seeing results? I gave up a TON of sugar......I figured that was the big factor that would help me to give it up but so far, not so much.
