Smithereens, I don't know if this is any help, but I had HORRIBLE bleeding, on all bc pills. I even had to have fairly regular D&Cs to deal with all of the bleeding on the pills.
Watch your energy levels for anemia and other problems. It could be a reaction to the bc pills, or something more problematic. I hope it stops soon for you.

Hi honey, did you start uni? Please let us know how you get on with the GP, it doesn't sound fun!

Hey honey!
I was the same on any form of BC - both the combined and the mini-pill and the depo injection. I don't think it's necessarily something to be concerned about medically, it's more the frustration of it.
Fingers crossed your GP can help x

What about trying A&E? You might get some attention! NHS Direct?
Are you enjoying uni? Which one was it?

Haha there's a lot to be said for being smarter than everyone else!
I would try NHS direct. They're pretty good and they tend to be overly cautious so they might tell you to go to A&E. If it's painful you need some relief honey x

What the? Wow that's too long!! The continuous BC is doing that to you??? For over a month???

That's no good! Can you get an opinion from a doc who will actually have an opinion? I know it is not life-threatening, but your body is still not working right and that should matter. I hope you can get to the bottom of things!

How long have you been on the continuous BC? My doctor always told me to wait at least 3 months before your body settles down into its "new routine." If it still sucks after 3 months then it's probably not working out for you.

lol nevermind, I just read your original first post and it looks like you've been on it for the past 5 months! Have you been bleeding this entire time??? Maybe you need to try something else. How do they expect you to live like that bleeding all the time?

You should be able to make an appointment with a choice of doctor, it just might mean waiting. I make sure I see the same guy for the majority of my issues, I really can't be chewed with explaining everything every time!

Can you see the same doctor every time? Seeing different ones might make things harder to get done. If you have to see different doctors every time then I would recommend getting copies of all your records and take them with you to every appointment. It makes the process so much faster.

I fax & bring all of my records to any new doc, that stuff gets darn annoying to explain every time! I have a summary sheet with my hospitalizations and doc info, very handy.
In your case though I hope you get someone willing to take action.

Have you talked to the doc about going off the pill? If you continue to bleed, perhaps that's a sign that your body doesn't appreciate it? That's insane that you've been bleeding for that long! I do hope they'll check you out for anemia!

If they're doing a blood test anyway, maybe check your thyroid levels (I'm always thinking of it now, Karen!). I know what you mean about being out of commission each month while trying to get life done, it shouldn't have to be that way. I hope you can find something that works.

If anything, can you consider taking a short break? That's what I meant in my previous post, but it didn't come across that way. Perhaps even a quick 5 day break might reset things and stop the bleeding for a bit? And perhaps you may need to try a new pill instead? And, yes, have the thyroid checked! Good call, Semicolon! TSH, free T4, AND free T3. Thyroid function can have SO much to do with irregular cycles. I'm not implying that it's the only problem, but man, if the thyroid isn't right, things won't get better until the thyroid does. I hope you can at least get a break from the bleeding, and soon!
