can't you contact the US postal service and set up a mail forward service so you can ensure that you get any additional mail sent directly to you?

Sometimes forwarding your mail doesnt always work.... not a fail safe unfortunatley, I can attest to that. Jess, Your old roomate committed fraud and that can be proven. The insurance company should be able to locate the cashed check (even if it was a year ago) to look at the endorsement and also to find out where it was cashed. You have rights. Talk with the debt collector to find out if this has dinged your credit yet (has it been reported to outside agencies). Get a copy of your credit report. Has she had access to other stuff that could screw your credit (do credit card offers go to this address, for instance). I think that there is a way to monitor your credit report, and even place a flag on your personal info so that if someone tries to open something in your name, there is an alert sent out to you. Check this out www.identityguard.comI would also file a police report. And, if your credit had been dinged.... you can write a letter to all 3 credit agencies with detailed info about the situation and ask that it be removed. Best of Luck.

Thank you for your help DeAnna! How on earth do you know all of this?! What great information. I'm contacting my insurance company tomorrow to get details on when/where/by whom the check was cashed. Hopefully that will give me more details. My mom doesn't think she's dumb enough to have done that (since fraud, theft, etc. is horrific and nobody in their right mind would do that) but I think she is. Lol. She's practically pathological. I guess we'll know soon enough!

Some people need to think before they speak. My stomach is crazy swollen since my surgery and I have been asked the same question. I answer when I get pregnant I will let you know. They do not know how to respond to that answer. These are people I know and should know better would never say that to someone I don't know.
Be careful with the Gin and tonic. It may have wheat in it which is an endo diet no no..

I like your response, Kimmie. I get asked a lot from patients when we're going to have kids ("well, you don't want to wait too long"). Usually I give some vague answer, but if they're really persistent I tell them I've had 4 surgeries in 2yrs just to quiet them down.
Sno- you can try eliminating bladder irritants like acids (cranberry & oj), coffee, alcohol (boo, I know!). But sometimes bladder stuff can be adhesions, maybe the physio can help! I dread my period every month, I never know what it's going to bring! See if things settles a bit, it can take a while.

Did a record review with Dr. Redwine and planned to go to Oregon for surgery as soon as he was re-instated at the hospital, only to have him announce today they denied him and he has decided to retire. I'm stunned! I guess I have to find a doctor in Illinois/Wisconsin who will excise the endo (not laser it out) AND biopsy everything that is removed AND perform the hysterectomy recommended by Dr. Redwine to get rid of probable adenomyosis. Anyone have a doctor near Illinois they can recommend? I'm gonna go bang my head against the wall now!

Dr. Redwine is retiring? ? How sad!! I wonder why they wouldn't reinstate him!

I'm wondering the same thing, Jenaya. You're right, it is sad! He has such an understanding about this disease, it's a shame to think of him not using it anymore.

I think there has been a lot up in the air, maybe it was the last straw. It is a loss for the endo community, I hope he continues to write and publish. And how frustrating for you! I live in dread of hearing that my specialist is going to retire...although he's definitely earned it.
I pulled a few names from a different site, these are member-recommended but I have not been to them personally. Dr, Charles Koh is in Milwaukee and I've heard good things about him. In the Chicago area I see Dr. Frank Tu and Dr. Charles Miller (haven't heard much on them I don't think). They are all listed as doing excision but again im not sure how accurate that is. Maybe someone here has had experience with these docs, or you could do a bit of research. If you want to travel, come see Dr. Robbins in Maine, I can vouch for him!

I have seen Dr. Tu and he's great! I also can suggest Dr. Frank Confino at Northwestern and also Dr. Malad, also out of Northwestern. They specialize in endo and Dr. Tu knows them as well.
