So, what's everyone up to?
I am one of those people who hates New Year. I don't like the end of things and the year always has an end. Plus this year hasn't been the greatest and I'm really down at the moment. Cheer me up with your awesome plans of merriment!!!

Aw, I hear you, Gem! I usually hate NYE, too, because I'm usually asleep on the couch by 10 pm. But, this year, I'm going to the same NYE party as last year! It's nothing wild and crazy, maybe 8 couples (and I'm not sure if I'll be solo yet), some drinks, some party games, and lots and lots of laughter.
I don't know about you, but I'm at least ready to say good riddance to 2011. Not the best year for me, and it sounds like it hasn't been for you, either.
Do you have any plans?

Ooh, that sounds fun Karen, and promising with a date... I think I'm just going to the pub with a load of friends - not too busy or expensive and I can walk home which is good as I'm pretty lame these days! I just have a long hatred of New Years, although I am trying to get over it and not just sit in watching people on the TV having fun!! Next year, fingers crossed will be better - for all of us endo girls!!

I hate NYE too. My husband and I are disappearing to Appalachia and planning to get drunk and screw each other in a cheap, sh*tty hotel somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

I used to like NYE when I had a life. It's just another day now...

I'm not a huge NYE person either, but I'm going to a friends house. We are all going to play games and eat. Should be fun I guess. I just haven't been feeling super social lately.
I'm honestly ready for this year to be over and done with.

Ready to see the back of this year and start fresh. Likelihood is I'll be home alone with a bottle of champagne, a curry and a couple of movies.

We have a fun family tradition, we pick movies like Lord of the rings, harry Potter, etc. that have lots of sequels. We buy all the junk food like Mozzarella sticks, pizza rolls, crackers and fancy cheese that we don't usually get because they are a luxury and we start in the afternoon and watch all the movies until 00:00 when we go out and blow some fireworks! Tony is working this year so I don't know if we may do it later or maybe the kids and I will just have some fun! lol

Gem- hope you have fun at the pub and are looking forward to it by now! We are hosting a family party for lunch and then hanging out with my sister in law and her husband. I'm hoping to have some drinks and still make it to midnight (they can drink A LOT!!). I have this recent thing where I can't sleep beyond 5 am!! So annoying, I'm feeling so sleep-deprived!
I am really looking forward to a new year, I think it will be a much better one! Hope everyone has fun and can focus on the good things in both the past, present, and future.

I meant to mention I had a drink at a bar the other night consisting of hot mulled cider and maple whiskey- we found the whiskey and are gong to try to replicate (my resolution will then be to be nicer to my bladder!).

Haha yup. It's not my worst year in recent years, but it kinda makes me sad to think that every NYE I'm glad to see the back of that particular year. When will I ever look back and think 'This past year was awesome?'. Damnit I want a happy life!!!

We went on a date last night. We weren't planning on it being New Years' Eve, but it just worked out that way. This was our much-belated anniversary date. We had a dog transport from White River Junction to Berlin, so we decided to do the date last night since we can write off most of the mileage on taxes. After we dropped the dog off (I wanted to keep her!), we went up to Montpelier to a Thai restaurant called Royal Orchid. We had potstickers for an app, Sam got crab fried rice and I got seafood rice noodles in a soup. Then we had sticky rice with mango for dessert--MAN that was good!
We went to the Savoy Theatre to see My Week with Marilyn. That poor girl was really troubled. It looks like she did have endo problems in the movie, but they never called it that. Not a bad movie altogether.
Then we came home, I took care of the kids, and we had New Year sex. It's always kinda weird for me, I lost my virginity on New Years', so every year I think "It's been n years now that I'm not a virgin."

And today I am really paying for walking around Montpelier in the cold. Awful sore throat and I just feel like ass.
