Hi guys,
My doctor and I suspect I have endometriosis. We met today and she recommended 3 months of seasonique, and if my symptoms don't improve, do the lap. I didn't think of concerns while I was talking to her. My problem is that one of my worst symptoms is pain during sex and bleeding after it, which has nothing to do with my period. It doesn't seem to me as though the seasonique could possibly help with those symptoms. Am I right? If so, is it unreasonable to try to push forward the lap? The painful sex is so frustrating. I was hoping to do the lap and then go on the continuous bp to prevent it from coming back. Do you think there's any chance of it helping my pain that doesn't correspond to my period?

I think it depends on what you want...but I'd probably have the lap. You have no way of knowing that you actually have endo until you have the lap.
I think a lap and then birth control is a good idea, but also keep in mind that birth control doesn't work for everyone! I do think though, that some people here have had birth control help with pain during sex.

I scheduled the lap... Ill let you know how it goes. Thanks!
ps I should have mentioned that I'm already on bcp that doesnt help the pain from sex, I'm just on the kind where you get a monthly period.

The lap sounds like a good plan if you don't know what you're up against yet.
And as for pain with sex, if you don't get relief with surgery, PLEASE look into pelvic physical therapy. It does WONDERS for that, and pain in general!
