I recent had lap approx 1 month ago for issues with right ab pain. Had adhesion's removed also my appendix was attached fallopian tube and I also has a left cyst. Prior and after lap, I also have been having symptoms of changes in my bowel movements. Some constipation . When I don't have constipation, I sometimes have multi color and foul smell BM's( sorry TMI). I am seeing my doctor in a few days. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue. Was thinking maybe IBS. I will have my doc check for H pylori. I was hoping my digestive issues would be resolved after my lap however I am still having these same symptoms. UGGGGhhh very frustrated

I've had serious bowel problems since I was 17 (12 years ago). Very much with the multi-colored and very foul smelling. Sometimes dark greenish, sometimes orange, it really varies, but it always smells like death. They didn't find any endo on my bowels, so I think it is IBS from all the inflammation in my gut.
HOWEVER, since I started on the endo diet, the IBS is nearly gone. If I eat something I shouldn't, it comes back, but in general I have "normal" BMs. Maybe if you tried eliminating some foods (dairy and red meat in particular are bad for inflammation), it could help your bowel symptoms?

I'm glad you're getting things checked out. But, regardless, please consider diet changes. Everything we eat passes through our intestines, so your diet can make a huge difference on how your bowels react. If you get some things rules out and still don't have any answers, try some diet changes. Gluten, dairy, and sugar are big culprits. For me, changing my diet allowed me to go off pain pills! About 50% of your immune system is in your gut, so you owe it to yourself to figure out what's going on and address it. Let us know what your doctor thinks!

I have had IBS d-predominant, with trigger foods being greasy or fried stuff, too much red meat, greens like spinach. I still dont eat many of those things but about six years ago I started eating kefir, which is a probiotic kind of like yogurt but way better. It really made a huge difference in regulating my bowels. Lifeway is my favorite store bought brand, it is gluten free and 99% lactose free, great for healthy bacteria and immune system. If you try it, don't start with the plain- blech!

Following on what these ladies have said, the "IBS" part of my endo is SO MUCH BETTER with following the endo diet. I'm vegetarian, but the big things to cut out for me were wheat (I'm also celiac), tofu, caffeine, and most dairy. I do still drink kefir (semicolon--I LOVE it; it's done so much for me). And, I do occasionally still have coffee. So frustrating, because I never drank coffee until I married, and then my husband got me into it and I fell in love. Now, it's something I have to give up! We also make almost everything ourselves, from scratch--our own bread/pasta (gluten free), lots of our own spices, etc. Taking away ANYTHING processed or with preservatives in it was really helpful.
Hope you get some relief soon!

I second the other girls. I've had a tentative IBS diagnosis and so many of my stomach issues have gone away since I've changed up my diet. Gluten is a big issue for me. I tested negative for Celiac, but since going Gluten Free my stomach and bathroom issues are so much better. I've cut down significantly on dairy and sugar and I've found that helps too.
I also take probiotics and that has made a difference as well.
Good luck and I hope you find so relief very soon.

Thanks for the information. I will continue to monitor and watch the things that I eat. I will try the kefir and some of the other food items on this website.

I think it depends on what your budget is. Some probiotics are quite pricey and others are a little bit cheaper. I took Primal Defense for awhile which my acupuncturist told me was one of the best probiotics on the market. Unfortunately it was a little to much for my body.
After a nasty kidney infection my naturopath suggested Xymogen EP ProbioMax Plus DF. It's a powder that comes in individual packets that I just put in my juice. It's a lot gentler on my system and I've noticed improvement.
I think it's just a matter of finding one that works well for your body. I'm willing to spend more to have a better product. Hope you find something that works for you.

After a partial hysterectomy and continued bowel issues I feel stuck too girls. Endo on the bowels is a awful part of this disease with most doctors 2 I have had not even able to remove it. DIET can make a world of difference. Gluten free, sugar free and LOTS of water! I will literally swear by it that it can not cure us but can help us feel a little better. Probiotics are awesome too. You can pick them up at many health food stores and even order them. OPC3 is another product worth checking out for digestive issues. I suffer with bowel issues more that I care to talk about and still even with a appendix out, uterus gone and galbladder removed I have days I bloat and can not eat. Good Luck with all of it! It is the worst feeling to want to eat and not have the awful digestive problems that go along with it! Any questions let me know I have been thru hell with digestive issues for years:( I am willing to help anyone Last year I ended up with not being able to eat and On TPN I would not wish that on anyone!

I appreciate all the helpful input. I'm scheduled to have a colonscopy next month. (Kinda anxious/ nervous.) Also, I was given some samples of Align probotics. Hope it helps.

I had a colonscopy back in April and they couldn't find anything. It was a really frustrating experience. I hope that your colonscopy shows something. I also tried Align for awhile and wasn't very impressed with it. If you don't see positive results from it. There are a lot of wonderful probiotics out there. Take care of yourself and I hope you find some answers.
