I had my first lap 2 weeks ago, march 6th.
The doctor said she laser endo on the back of my uterus but couldn't do anything for the endo on me bladder and tubes that go from my bladder to my kidneys.
The doctor also failed to tell me that Sex is forbidden even after 2 weeks. well i had sex and found that i have sutures inside my vagina. They really hurt, i can barely go to work because every bump puts pressure inside and it hurts when i sit down (like a balloon blowing up inside my vagina, weird felling, hard to describe).
I started bleeding and I'm worried that maybe i pulled a suture before knowing it was there (although intercourse did not hurt at all, hurt more before the surgery)
I'm confused and scared. I don't know what she did during the surgery, is it normal to have sutures inside my vagina? has anyone else had some? Why is there suture in there if she only laser the back of my uterus? Did anyone else have pain like this 2 week after a laporoscopy? so many question and i can't get a hold of my doctor.
Should i go to the ER to see for the bleeding or maybe its just my period i really don't know?

If you think it's a suture, I'd go to the ER. It's better to be safe than sorry. I've never heard of sutures in the vagina, and I can't think of a good reason for it. All I know is that she should have told you, and she should have warned you about sex. If I were you I would throw the biggest fit possible about this so the doctor is forced to give her patients proper warnings in the future. She shoud not get away with that.

I would go straight to the ER. I didn't have pain 2 weeks after laproscopic. I did have the sutures inside, but they disolved on their own. I don't remember how long I waited to have intercourse, but I don't think it was long at all. Why didn't your doctor try to get all the endo, would have made since, being as they were already in there? Good luck and get to the hospital. Lynette

I have had 2 laps, and neither one involved sutures to the vagina. The only thing that usually goes in the vagina during the lap is an instrument to tilt the uterus so that a better look may be obtained with the laparascope...which goes through the abdomen. I'd seriously get this checked out..and find out how exactly your doc. did this procedure.

Wow, this sounds very serious, and if you are at all worried, I think you should definitely go back to the doctor immediately. It's much better to play it safe. I hope everything goes well, and that you feel better soon. (Congrats that the sex feels better now! ;D

I aggree with everyone...go get it looked at and i would take it one step further i would go for a second opinion. i had a lap and hysteroscopy and was told i would be fine the next day to go back to work...i was out of it for 6 weeks, my doc didnt see me and didnt tell me what he had done, in our post opp consultation a week and a half later which i had to fight for he was very vague and didnt really remember (quote unquote)! i went for second and third opinions and they asked for a report from him, the opp had taken double the time, two lots of aneasthetic and it then came out that i had had not only the lazer, but nerve ablation, cutting through the cervical wall (cant remember exactly the term) and had a uterine septum cut out which had filled my womb. oh and a biopsy. and ofcouse a major tear in my clit because 'they had obviously been a bit rough when cleaning' i was told. it is so nb to have a doc that tells you exactly what is going on...my new guyni also found debris left in my womb, although we cant prove if it was from then. i also now know in retrospect that i had an infection after the opp. things you dont know are dangerous. anyone else have a similar story?

WOW!
That makes me think twice about my gyn now.
She supposed to be a pelvic surgery specialist.
Well i didn't get a hold of her yet neither did her secretary (that what she said anyway). The bleeding did stop. but start again when i go to the bathroom or try to lift something.
I got a hold of my boyfriends doctor who said he would take a look to make sure i didn't tare a suture but thats all he can do. At least its something less to worry about i guess. I will know tonight if everything is OK in there.
I will keep you all posted.

I would definitely find a new ob/gyn. I hope it all turns out all right. Lauren, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Endo is enought to deal with, but doctors treating you like that on top of everything. Wow. Good luck to both of you Lynette

At least the doctor said you look fine now. I would go to another ob/gyn asap and get your copy of the operative report and doctors notes. At least it's not as bad as it could have been. Good luck
