With the exception of table sugar,do you think it's the glucose?

That's a good point, they are all pretty high in unbound glucose. While maltose is basically just glucose, it has a different structure because it is two glucose molecules bound together. I don't know how much the binding changes it's chemical properties, though. I'm bad at chemistry--had to take it in 9th grade and barely scraped by with a C.
So I guess, from that point of view, the best sugar for me to try next would be turbinado or stevia. I couldn't find much about the sugars in stevia--it appears to be all alcohol sugars, mainly steviosides and rebianosides. I've heard it has a nasty aftertaste though.
Edit: It looks like sucanat and maple sugar would also be okay. Sucanat has less than 2% glucose. Luckily, I can get all four of these sugars at the natural foods store in town. I still think the reason table sugar affected me so horribly is the high amount of processing it goes through, not the sucrose itself. Sucanat and turbinado are made from the same sources, but don't go through as much processing.

I hope you're able to find some substitutes!

Oooooo man. Had two clusters of snow crab legs today. I was gonna test crustaceans using shrimp, but the shrimp were actually more expensive! I reeeeeeeally hope I'm not allergic to crabs!

Well this is no fun. I think I'm sensitive to crustaceans.
Tomorrow is goat's milk.

Goat's milk isn't working out too well either. I think it's making me constipated.
The only things left are turbinado sugar and duck eggs (if I can find any). Sugar will be on Friday.

Turbinado is making me feel crappy too. Ugh. I wonder if the maple syrup was just a fluke, and all sugars are just bad. I can't find duck eggs either, so I guess that means I am done with this diet.
I have gained almost 20 lbs. since going on it too, not cool. Half of my pants don't fit and I am starting to obsess over food.

Turbinado is making me feel crappy too. Ugh. I wonder if the maple syrup was just a fluke, and all sugars are just bad. I can't remember - did you try overdoing fruit? Like eating huge quantities to see if that sugar affects you.

Certain fruits, yes. I had to test oranges (citrus) and bananas, so one day I ate three oranges, and another day I ate three bananas. Both were fine.

So maybe this is a dumb question but you guys were talking about food sensitivity tests earlier in this thread and um...how do you get those done? I went to an allergist this morning who did food allergy skin tests and said there is no such thing as food sensitivity testing. It turns out i'm not allergic to anything but i still think there's something going on! How did you guys get these tests?

My naturopath offers them. The company that does the analysis is US Biotek in Seattle,Washington. They test antibodies for a huge list of different foods. My in-laws had the test done.

Yeah, I got a scratch test, too, which showed nothing. My doc (more alternative) did a blood draw & sent it in. I had to pay out of pocket, but it was well worth it!

Same, blood draw through my naturopath. I just wish the blood test showed alternatives for things you can't have (like duck eggs, since I can't have chicken eggs).

And I'm confused as to how a skin test would show up any food sensitivities. I mean I'm not an allergist, but it just makes sense. You don't smear peanut butter all over your hands (well, most of us don't), so why would it make a difference if your skin reacts to peanut butter?

oh, my skin test was just a straight up allergy test. The doctor kept insisting that there was no test at all for food sensitivities which obviously isn't true!!
I can't afford a naturopath though, and I don't really trust myself to follow this diet, so i guess i'll have to wait until i have more money to find out...
