Hello. This is not a pleasant way to introduce myself, I realise! I'm looking for advice or similar experience with this. I have been RELIGIOUSLY following the diet for about 6 weeks now. Really enjoying it. However, the diarrhea started fairly early on and I did expect it with the increase in veg. But it is still with me. My bowels move everytime I sit on the toilet and my wind is relentless and foul! My colleagues have been polite enough to ignore it but not my partner! I don't blame him. Sometimes my bum makes ME feel sick :-(
Before I started the diet I had no problems with bowels apart from constitution post-surgery. I believe the diet is important for me although I have no way of knowing it is working. I am desperate to have children of my own at some point but have had nothing but heart ache in this department and now a diagnosis of endo.
Anyone else have problems after starting the diet?

I mean 'constipation' post surgery. Even my autotext is wanting to avoid my toilet talk!

Hon, if you're allergic to rice or corn (which is common, I hear) or oats, and you're including them.... maybe it's time for a food allergy test? Allergies to replacements to wheat doesn't sound fun AT ALL!
ps I occasionally have a reaction to foods most recently to oats. I really hope you can get some help with this. If I was you I'd try omitting corn or rice (if that's what you use) and if it's an everyday thing, and you have one food you are using daily, cut it out and see what happens? and in the meantime, schedule a food allergy test ifyou are able?
Good luck and welcome!

Yeah, my first guess would be you're now eating something that your body doesn't like. See if you can pinpoint something else, or post your common foods here and we can see if anything rings a bell!
Are you on probiotics at all? That might help a bit, but if your issues are related to a specific food you are eating, all the probiotics on the world may not help.

The exact same thing happened to me. I was so jacked up when I went totally on the endo diet. It really messed my stomach up and I had horrible gas like you, diarrhea. I ended up giving up and starting over again with a slow elimination process. I am not completely on the diet but I have cut out a lot of things. I don't think my body handled the drastic change very well. I think that's what my problem was.

Thank you so much for all this information. I was really hoping someone would tell me not to worry, that it would settle in time. But I don't suppose it will.
I eat a lot of spicy food for the flavour which I can imagine won't be helping. And I am eating oats nearly every day.
Ok I will start with an elimination diet soon. Oh how depressing! I was really enjoying my food!
My period is now 9 days late and I'm not pregnant. This can't be related can it?
I have only had one period since having an ectopic pregnancy removed in Feb. So probably just not back in cycle yet.
Now is a time I want to eat anything just to cheer myself up! 2.5 weeks of PMT and counting!

Do you know if you emulated yet this month? If ovulation is delayed due to stress or anything else your period should be late as well. Fun stuff!
Hope you are able to get to the bottom of things! Oats are no good for me, too...

Debs last night I was talking to hubby and he reminded me when I got on the endo diet I was eating a fruit smoothie every morning and DAMN I hada LOT of gas! woo hoo!
I can't remember where I read it, but some natural approaches involve eating fruit and veg by themselves (not in combination with protien or carb or fats) to reduce bloating and gas.
I'll find something and post it for you....

Yeah I think my problem was the fruit too. I NEVER eat fruit and when I started the endo diet I had it a lot and it just messed me up.

I don't know if I ovulated. Nothing feels the same anymore. I wanted that pregnancy so much. Now if the diet isn't going to help my fertility chances I feel like I've lost control of the only thing I had..
Sorry to be so dramatic. Maybe I will cut down on the fruit a bit. I really have bn eating a lot more than usual! Love droopy Debs

Do you have Taking Charge of Your Fertility, the book? I HIGHLY recommend it for being in control and in communication with your body while TTC.....

Pretty beat me to it! If you want to know your fertility signals and to know if you ovulated or not, TCOYF is your go-to book!! The diet has been known to help some women get preggers after being on it for a month or two. Diet can help with reducing inflammation and helping to balance out your hormones!

FYI I have been on the diet for a year, had surgery in October, and last month was the first month I for sure ovulated, and this month my luteal phase (between O and period) was finally long enough to get a baby! Since my surgeon did extensive dissection and re-building of my ovaries, and cut my uterus all the way open to remove endo, daily temping and the endo diet are the way I've monitored my body healing since that surgery. It took all this time for my ovaries to ovulate again! I'm also very pleased with the effect of the endo diet on my cycle and my pain and obviously it's affected my ability to ovulate, AND lengthened my luteal phase, which is ideal.... now I'm just trying to get hubby in bed and horny on the days before and during my expected ovulation! I shoot for every other day starting about 4 days before I expect to ovulate. Anyway this is meant to encourage you to use these awesome tools, and give you some evidence that they are effective, for me. baby dust!

Thank you! My period finally came today. So much more together now. I cried yesterday because himself had tidied and I didn't like where he'd put things! Poor man!
I will definitely take your advice on this book which I don't have, not yet. I agreed to wait 6 months before officially TRYING trying again but I don't suppose it will hurt to be doing some research. He thinks it will just happen if I stop thinking about it. He has 3 kids from previous marriage and they were all conceived incredibly easily so he is in a different place from me at times.
Pretty your story is quite incredible. Congratulations on your ovulation! I was told I have endo after ectopic surgery but it isnt bad. However it seems only the smallest amount can cause infertility in cases like mine. Actually I can get preg but not keep it more than a few days past implantation. My period starts and I miscarry. Another endo twist. I look forward to your proud preg announcement when the time comes :-)
Just knowing you ladies were out there got me through a particularly bad night last night, thank you.
