I agree with Karen, I went cold turkey too, and it was much easier for me that way, then I didn't have to wait weeks and weeks to 'see' if a food was causing pain etc, I just took them ALL out at once, and bingo my pain was gone, also for TTC it's great to just set that goal and GO FOR IT. then, once you're off wheat dairy etc soy all that for a couple weeks, it's MUCH easier to test out a food on yourself and then you immediatly KNOW if it's a problem.
I've been following this diet for almost a year, I cheat ALL the time, but in small amounts and let me tell you the reactions are SO OBVIOUS. to me it's so much easeir than taking one food out at a time, since ALL these foods have impacts on endo, and ALL of them cause inflammation. If you are motivated and seriously TTC I can't think of a better way to increase your chances.

I think you could say I've tried this diet "cold turkey" too! When I discovered this board 2 wks ago I was experiencing my monthly endo pain. I'm on about 10 days now and I"ve lost 5 lbs. I'm encouraged to keep going because I'm excited about the results. Losing weight is great for me, but also I want to feel much better and be able to eliminate or reduce my monthly "pain" episodes. I only experience endo pain about 5-7 days AFTER my period. Have a lot of good healthy food stocked in your house and have a menu plan and snack choices available so you'll be less tempted to cheat. And tonight when I went shopping, I did not even buy the Reese's pbutter cups!

Ok I guess I'm not as strong willed as everyone else. I tried cold turkey and I seriously fell off the wagon. For me, a slower elimination of food was easier. I just set weekly goals and got rid of something one by one. Some people can do cold turkey, and some of us need training wheels. I couldn't do cold turkey because my body really freaked out when I changed my diet so drastically. I couldn't function and that's not good when you're a student and need to keep your grades up. I'm not fully on the diet but I have gotten rid of a lot of things that make me feel like hell. I'm still in denial that wheat messes me up That's the last on my list to go. It's so hard because wheat gluten is in EVERYTHING. But I know it has to go eventually because it's pretty obvious in my body when I've had it. Lucky for me, I don't have a problem with dairy but I did switch to all organic dairy products.

Nice, Jenaya! Yeah I think if I was trying to do your school schedule, that's a lot more challenging, because your brain gets so hungry from school. seriously! My life is pretty set though, m-f I work 8-5, I'm able to get a salad or soup for lunch (I get a whole hour, and I'm right in the middle of town, so there's food all around) and then my hubby works later than me so I ALWAYS have time after work to cook or go to the market if I need something. Anyhow, I feel you. I'm curious about organic dairy but so scared it will act the same in my body that I just don't wanna eat any... have you found organic yogurt at all?

I tried to stop cold turkey as well and it didn't work for me. Slowly weaning myself off of things is what worked best. I still eat a little dairy now and again, but it's very noticeable when I do.
I eat goat's milk yogurt and that works for me. My Mom is bringing me some goat cheese from a farm when she comes to see me and some goat's milk yogurt. I'm excited to try it and see if it works for me.
Wheat makes me miserable so I'm pretty much over even trying to cheat a little bit with that. The sugar thing can be challenging for me at times, but overall I think I've done pretty well. I've changed my diet pretty drastically and I'm proud of myself for that.

Whatever it takes, is what you have to do. Lately I'm really noticing some kind of arthritis-type back and neck pain anytime I eat sugar. It's my new challenge. Wheat and dairy were easy to cut down but SUGAR is kicking my butt! Good luck to all, I know it's not easy, but it's definitely healthier for you than narcotic drugs and surgery, right? Keep up the good work ladies, your body will thank you I promise!

I'll do anything to avoid surgery. When I found out about the diet I was like ok let's try it! I've noticed a big difference. Sugar kicks my butt too pretty. I'm such a sugar baby.

I'm an addict. It's pretty bad. I'll avoid everything but then pig out on sugar and it is SO bad for me.... I'm WEAK lol!

Sugar - that is my problem. I have tried to do gluten free in the past because I noticed that when I did adkins that I felt better. Of course I found great gluten free cookies! There are some great gluten free stuff out there but alot of them have sugar! How do you get away from wheat AND sugar! I am trying to come up with some lists of foods so it is easier. I have been thinking I will do what my grandmother did and cook for the whole week on sundays. Has anyone used any of the GF cookbooks that are out there?

Lately I'm really noticing some kind of arthritis-type back and neck pain anytime I eat sugar. I get this with sugar, too, and whenever I drink beer (so I don't anymore). It seems to travel to all my joints almost instantly and ache.
