I will have to read through that! It's apparently a vitamin that most obese people are deficient in, so the bodybuilders I knew who took it by the bucket had a point too! I just think of it as 'if I have enough vitamin C, I will maintain the natural shape I should be' and it has literally shifted the excess belly fat I suddenly had, I'm back to my normal amount of belly chub now. That belly fat wouldn't go no matter how much I worked out. It's fuel for our cells, we get rid of any excess we've taken through our urine so 3 a day is ok for me and not dangerous... it's my new wonder vitamin!

High levels of Vit C are in a lot of the daily supplements I take. Sadly, at the moment, it doesn't seem to be doing a thing for me...

I take a multivitamin and also a b-active and then 3xdispersible vitamin C, I've been lucky that it seems to have helped with my tiredness in that I'm not constantly tired, just tire easily which is easier to deal with and manage. My cells must've been hungry

I love it. It's like a natural antiobiotic for me, kills off colds every time if I take it in time. Plays such a big part at a cellular level.

I always use it to ward of cold as well... first sign of a slight scratchy fever or general tiredness and I take big o'l doses.

I have to be careful cos sometimes I'll take it and it gives me the runs if I have it before food. So my daily dosing is 3 x effervescent tabs at 1667% RDA each, then 1 vitamin b-active which gives me an energy boost like Berocca but cheaper by far! That is 793% per tablet, then I also take my multivitamin which is multibionta (I loooove it) which has a nice little 100% of RDA per tablet. I will take more if I fall ill. In the interests of working on infections I also take 2 x zinc and 2 x folic acid, though I need to read up on that as I've not investigated how it might affect me. But it works anyway. I started on the folic acid when I read that it's good to ward off BV.

I think a reasonable dose is would be around 1000mg per day. I take double that at least when trying to fight off a cold. I love it cos it's pretty hard to get too much of cos you just pee out the excess. I'd always advise anyone to discuss with a doc though if they planned to take massive doses on a regular basis.

The Magnesiuum is what I am looking at now talked to pharmacist today about it but I could not find the calmu product and she had never heard of it. Thanks girls for all the helpful info I am going on little food and think the supplements are keeping me going. Im at work with energy and if I crash it will be this weekend when I am off work. Then I can try to rest with the Magnesium Calming product iif I can find it.

1000mg is your standard '1 a day' dose.

It's hard to keep track of - not that long ago the RDA was a mere 30 mg, then 60mg, then it seemed everything was 500 mg and now some are 1000mg per dose. The ubiquitous 'they' keep changing their minds! The Vitamin C foundation website that I looked at now says 3000 mg per day.
