I recently started using progesterone cream and read about avoiding phytoestrogens or plant estrogens in addition to xenoestrogens. I bought the Endometriosis Diet book and found that really helpful (with lots of delicious recipes!) but am still confused as to whether I should be avoiding evening primrose oil, flax seed/oil, sage, fennel, apples etc., even though they are recommended in the Endo Diet but are also known phytoestrogens, especially while taking progesterone. Do the benefits of these plant-foods outweight the estrogenic effect on either a long-term or short term basis? Has anyone else been on progesterone for a long period of time and has found relief in getting off these foods? Still trying to figure out whether I should get rid of these things in my pantry. Thanks for your help!

I too would like to know the answer. I downloaded the Endo-Resolved Recipe E-book from this website (I'm not sure if it is the same as yours). I have been having a bit of difficulty trying to figure out a few things myself. Hopefully somebody will come along with some answers. I plan on starting progesterone this cycle.

Hi, To be honest, I'd be more concerned about avoiding exposure to xenoestrogens through pesticides (so buy organic or peel and wash veg and fruit), cosmetics and body washes, shampoo, conditioner, etc (parabens), plastics (buy cosmetics in glass bottles). Be sure never to heat food in plastic trays or drink water out of plastic bottles which has been left to overheat in the sun/inside the car.
The major oestrogenic plants to avoid are things like red clover and alfalfa...but as for the rest, I guess if your body has been used to them for a long time and you consume them in small quantities in moderation, then they are less likely to be an issue.

Thanks for the advice puddleduck. I'm thinking I agree with you about the foods -- moderation on the things my body's already used to and avoid the major estrogenic ones.
I did however make the switch on all my lotions and potions a couple of years ago and that's really made a difference too.
Cheers!

I appreciate your reply also puddleduck. What make-up can you find that is natural and that comes in glass bottles/jars? Anyone know?

I recently got the progesterelle cream and the xenoestrogen info from Dr. Eckhart and am trying to eliminate the xeno's from my life. It's only been two weeks, and not seeing much signs of progress, but I'm giving it the standard three months. I found make up at my local health food store that is all made from minerals, and Bare Essentials is one Dr. Eckhart recommends.
Interested to hear if others have had good results with this program?

good question-I"m not sure-well just checked their website and it looks like its in plastic....the makeup I got at the health food store is in plastic, probably not so good, eh? Just wondering if you are still having good results from the Clear Passage therapy? That was something I thought of doing, am wondering if its worth the money?

So many good products come in plastic I hate that! I recycle most everything but now that we've learned the plastic leaches into the products and now the body, what's a gal to do? Clear Passage worked wonderfully for me. Here's a link to my progress cjlevett.proboards33.com/index.cg....lay&thread=2373
