For a long time I've not bothered with paracetemol, as I've always considered it too mild as a painkiller. However, a few different medical professionals have recently encouraged me to give it a go. And you know what? It works pretty well if you take it properly. If taken excessively it can cause liver damage (or death, if deliberately trying to overdose) but the normal dose of 2 taken four times a day is apparently very safe, even longish term. It's gentle on the stomach too. It's also super duper cheap. And you can get it over the counter/off the shelf. Yesterday I bought some from the pharmacy in my local supermarket - a pack of 32 for around 50 p but you can get it even cheaper. If anyone needs pain relief but can't handle stronger narcotics/analgesics I'd reccomend asking your doc about it and trying it. It's really working for me.
