Hi I am fairly new to all this and I have been looking for a whole grain bread. All the ones I keep seeing have wheat. Thanks!

Hi Samanthad22, nice to meet you. The only kind of bread I've found that does not have wheat in it is a gluten free kind. It would be in the freezer section. I find it at my local health food store. Some grocery stores have it too. Not sure if that's exactly what you are looking for, as I don't think it's "whole grain". It takes some getting use to and I don't eat it much because I'm limiting my carbs. Good luck

This is one of the areas where I am confused... All breads contain yeast, no? I thought I read that we should avoid yeast..
Then again I have read so much it is starting to run into each other..lol

I really like the "sprouted" versions! Full of fiber and yumminess!
Whole grain breads will say "whole grain" on the package. "whole grain" and containing yeast are two different things. Unless your bread is unleavened (like matzah), then it most likely has yeast. You can have whole grain and non-whole grain and either have yeast or not have yeast. Breads that rise 99% of the time (or more!) have yeast.

I love sprouted grain bread too ouchy!
At the moment my dad and i are working on the formula for a perfect bread recipe! He makes his own bread in a bread maker (cos he can't eat salt) so i've got him trying out a rye and spelt combination for me. Bread is one of my favourite foods and i'm really missing it, those gluten free breads (or bricks as they more closely resemble!) just don't do it for me so i'm hoping we can make something yummy. Now we're just searching for a grain mix that doesn't have wheat so we can add a bit of flavbour and crunch to it. I'm also thinking of experimenting with buckwheat.
