So from what ive been reading...fish,veggies,fruit,water and chicken are the main things that you're allowed to eat on the endo diet.
can you have nuts? I love nuts. especially at xmas time.
there really isnt much you CAN eat on this diet. but I am commited to changing my lifestyle to feel better.
and you can have organic yogurt right? im sorry if im asking questions already asked but some of the posts confused me.
has anyone had a creative foods they're thought of to help stay on track. I'll be fine with cutting out breads and red meat...as i only eat chicken anyways...except for beef jerky...its my weakness and i try to avoid it due to all the salt.
I;m just looking for advice with starting this new lifestyle change

nuts are fine for me, i think it depends on the person, if ur reacting to nuts, stop having them, but there a bit of a staple for me.
I have yoghurt, its optional, if its causing no probs, u can have it, just as long as its all natural is the important thing, no sugar or nasty additives. You can sweeten it with a liquid sweetener like maple syrup if u like, or put cut up fruit in it.
Ummm creative foods, what sort? sweet? savory?
Good snack ive found is just getting some gluten free crackers and spreading them with peanut butter and a sugar free jam (can get ones with only fruit sugars, no cane).
Keep some snacks on hand that are endo friendly, like some gluten free muffins in the freezer. Muffins are easy to make gluten free, there not as tricky as bread or cakes, just replace the flour with a gluten free self raising, can use a bananna instead of egg, dates or sultanas for sweetners.
Coconut milk is a wonderful substitute for cream or milk in cooking.
Keep some nice nuts handy in a container, something u like, dont balk at the cost, remember ur not spending the money on unhealthy snacks, so its not the issue u might think.
Cook extras when u cook dinner, leftovers are an easy lunch.
Fruit fruit and more fruit. Smoothies create variety, or can cut some up and have with yoghurt, or coconut milk. Also i make a snack with a bananna and sultanas with a peanut butter and water mix (just mix tablespoon of peanut butter with about 3 of water so it makes a nice coating on the bananna.
Tahini is good with cut up fruit, like apples. Can just dip the apple slices in it.
Keep something quick in the freezer so if no time less likely to break the diet, like some gluten free frozen chips, hash browns, gluten free fish cakes, that sort of thing.
Make bulk of lentil/bean patties and freeze them, are great cooked up with a salad. Simple meal. If u divide them with waxed paper its easy to pull out what u need.
Brown rice is a great staple food, learn to use that rather than breads.
Avacado's are the best, so many uses. Makes a lovely spread or a good butter replacement, brilliant in salads.
Always keep simple options in the house, stuff for mexican or pasta are especially good.
Dips are good, can make some simple home made ones. Tzaziki is just yoghurt and cucumber. Can make hommus with chick peas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and a little water in a blender. Or a simple one is just avacado mashed with either yoghurt or coconut milk. Cut up some vege sticks and have them in a sealed container so u can easily grab some sticks and dip.
Rice crackers are great, not bad with some natural peanut butter.

Oh another good thing to do, get some gluten free baked fruit bars from the health food shop or the health food section at the grocery store, just make sure natural sugars are used. Keep one in your handbag, there a good backup snack if ur out and nothing is endo friendly.
And drinks, mineral water and fruit juice are ur friend. Can get sparkling mineral water out, nice with a slice of lemon, or mixed 50/50 with fruit juice (try and make sure 100%, u dont want added sugars if possible). This mix has gotten me through alot of dinners out and nights out. If all else fails i find a ginger ale the least harmful as no caffeine and generally less sugar than other drinks. There are alot of nice mineral water drinks out these days that only have fruit juice sugars as well.

Regarding the water, get a water filter as they are brilliant at filtering out the cr*p that gets into our water systems - traces of oestrogen from the pills, pollutants etc. I have read that filters can be even better at this than paying for mineral water. On the food front, eat as organically as you can. It really makes a difference.
