Hi
I'm new to this forum, but I really need to explore your experiences.
In 2007 I was diagnosed with Endo after suffering with fertility problems. At that time, both my ovaries were on the left side of my body, but I was not experiencing any pain.
The doctor removed the endo, and we continued TTC, unfortunately it took a couple more years (and a miscarriage) to diagnose my inter-uterine scarring, which was also removed.
My doctor then recommended monitored ovulation and fertility drugs. We had treatment in Jan & Feb last year without success, however about week before my AF on both treatments I suffered with pain/discomfort in my right pelvic area and down my thigh. I mistook this pain for possible implantation pain and didn't think much more of it. A further treatment in June then resulted in a pregnancy which was lost at 6 weeks, just before losing it I had really good HCG levels, but then the pain started again, but this time it was much stronger. Concerned that it may have been ectopic, I saw my doctor who confirmed with blood tests that the pregnancy was not progressing and ultrasound showed that I didn't have any cysts.
The pain has since continued, getting worse just before ovulation and AF. I returned to my doctor a couple of weeks ago and he said I was extremely tender around the right ovary and suspected my endo had returned. I had a laparoscopy last week and he found endo around my left ovary but nothing wrong with the right - I have no pain on my left side at all.
He now thinks that the pain in the right was referred - but it is not going away (I know it has only been a week).
I am convinced that the pain was directly related to the miscarriage and do not want any more treatments until I can pinpoint the cause. I am also not convinced by the referred pain theory, but I would like it to be.
I'm sorry, that was a lot of info but I really could do with some detailed help.
Does anyone have any similar experiences of referred pain in their ovaries - or of any other possible cause for this?
Thanks very much.
