Hi,
Im new to this site, and I am hoping that maybe someone can help answer some of my questions, and I hope I can encourage and help others as well!
I had surgery exactly a year ago. It was to remove a complex cyst in my ovary. My Dr followed it for 5 years and it started to change to a more solid structure, so she decided it needed to come out. While doing the lap she removed the left ovary and tube. The cyst turned out to be a endometrioma, and I was full of endo. She excised the endo from several areas. I also had adhesions that were pulling my large intestine up several inches, so she free'd that area and put my colon back where it belongs! The only area she left was on my appendix. The surgery has relieved my pain. The pain I had was primarily on the ovaries, painful bowel movements (in large intesting) and then a odd colicky gas type pain above my bellybutton. My dr felt that the pain was due to hormonal changes...and perhaps not the endo. But regardless I have been having wonderful periods for a year. I can barely tell I am on them...until this last period. 12 hours after my period started I got that colickly gas pain above my belly button, and had alot of gas. But then for 4 days had severe stomach cramping (like when you eat something bad). I live in anticipation that the pain will come back. This was a very odd month, so I think that I may have caught a stomach bug, considering the location of the pain. Ill see how next month goes. Hopefully it wont return.
My question is, does anyone know why one gets those horribly painful gas pains (thats how they feel to me). I have no other pains...all the endo symptoms are gone. Anyone have pain as high up as I do, in the transverse colon? ( I had no endo there)
ANyways, thanks for any replies, I truly appreciate it
Kelly
