So glad you're finding relief with diet - although when I think about it, it's obvious that what we fuel ourselves with will affect us, but it's seeing the results that really spur me on.

Hey endo diet experts, I'm ready to start trying this! Since I have been taken off the ring, my only option left is the natural route. There are some foods I am still confused about and am hoping some of you experts can help clarify. I have a small list of things I don't know are allowed or not so it would be sooo awesome if you can tell me which are ok and which aren't.
popcorn? lol brown rice oatmeal Is there any bread we can have? almonds peanuts pistachios eggs egg noodles couscous How about anything that claims to be "whole grain" like whole grain pasta noodles? Also some lables have warnings like "made in a factory that packages wheat, eggs and soy." Is the diet THAT strict where we have to avoid those things too?
So that's all I can think of for now.. lol

Yay, another one on board!
I'd say most of those things would be ok - popcorn, brown rice, oatmeal, nuts, couscous, in my book, thought others may avoid some of those things (I avoid eggs, but that's just because I'm sensitive to them).
STAY AWAY from whole grain pasta noodles - anything with flour in them is a no-no. I just tried some quinoa/corn flour pasta yesterday and it's pretty awesome! Much better than the brown rice pasta (they get really gummy).
As for bread, they make some gluten-free breads around here, there's even a place that's known far and wide as having the best gluten-free bread around, but if you ask me, it's still pretty awful. I just don't have bread.

Awesome thank you Karen. So I'm guessing I have to stay away from wheat bread. I can check the food co-op at school for gluten free bread. I'm sure they have something. I've also heard that there's some bread in the frozen section that's good? Heard of that before?
Even though I was pretty freaked out about having to give up my nuva ring, I'm actually really excited about being off all those hormones! I bet my mood will get better among other things (aside from the stroke LOL). I'm just feeling so excited about all this!

Hi Jenaya, I agree with Karen. Most of those items on the list are okay. I have egg Saturday morning and it doesn't seem to effect me. The minute I have bread...my pants nearly burst open bc I'm so bloated. I don't eat bread anymore, even gluton free. I want to remember how delicious bread used to be instead of eating gluton gree tasteless bread. Gluton free bread tends to be expensive too so I just figure its not worth it. Do you have the endo recipe book? I downloaded it and had it printed at a business depot. I use it a lot and make notes on the pages bc some of the recipes need a little more salt or pepper, etc.

Most of the stuff on your list doesn't bother me...just kind of keep it simple: Lots of veggies, organic meats if you need them (I have to eat meat or I'll waste away), fruit, lots of whole grain rices, and nuts. I know a lot of the girls are pretty strict with the diet, but I played around until I found foods that just generally agree with me... Cheese, anything fried, and heavy pasta/bread is what bothers me most. I just simply don't eat it. It's funny how once you're eating healthy, you won't want to go back. The second you eat something that doesn't agree with you, you'll know it for sure!

good for you guys!! I love seeing what everyone else is eating and it gives me motivation to keep going not to mention 2 lb weight loss my boyfriend even noticed as he said sadly "your boobs got smaller" lol since I have a really small frame of 4'11 any weight gain/loss shows! I feel a lot better on this diet still battling the fatigue but taking adrenal supplements still. For breakfast I had oat meal with strawberries and green tea I cut dairy out and wheat! Still having trouble with caffeine being a nurse and working shift work but I'm limiting tea to 1-2 cups a day I've sen major changes in bloating since starting this diet!! way less pain. For dinner yesterday I made a stir fry and my boyfriend bought me the magic bullet to make quick shakes! love it!

I find I'm ok with eggs if they are fried or poached. If I have them scrambled I get a really dodgy tummy!! Random!
Try rice noodles as well, yummy!

cherry, you're making me lol again, 'baby rices' lol! goofball.
Yeah. Was eating a beautiful tabbouleh salad, just perfect, when had annoying sharp pain in gut and a flashing sign went off "THIS IS WHEAT< YOU IDIOT!!!!!" then I realized, it was wheat, duh. Same with the couscous! was eating my way through it, all of a sudden, the crashing realization that IT IS WHEAT! dammit! lol

jenaya I buy organic eggs and have no issue with them. Still only eat one or two a week though. On your list, I would not eat couscous, egg noodles, but that's it. poor Jenay. I'm sorry it's come to this, I know you were happy not having to deal with the diet. Sorry sweetie I'd love to ignore it myself, but having already sworn off BCP... it's my last and best hope!
