If you look up Lyme's disease on Wikipedia it sounds exactly like what I've got. It also talks about the false negatives, and basically its because no one has devised a fool proof test for it yet. They say even people who have the bullseye and the bite and everything can have the blood test and it will come back negative. Hello!? I think they need to do something about this. Especially when people who don't have it diagnosed and treated then suffer life long effects of the disease because it sticks with them. UGH There is a place in California that has a test that is pretty accurate. I think it's the IGeneX lab maybe. My mom has/had all of the same symptoms for years and then out of no where in June she started having seizures. Her regular test came back negative but she knew she had it and convinced her dr to send her blood work to that lab in CA and it came back positive. So she's going to take antibiotics. Try to have your doctor send your blood work there to have the test ran because this disease can cause CRAZY symptoms (my mom is a healthy 41 year old with no prior illnesses) and they also think that lyme is what causes other non diagnosable* diseases. Alzheimer's, fibromialga, arthritis (they think that when there's enough bacteria and it attaches to certain spots *brain = Alzheimer's, muscles = fibro, joints = arthritis*). So definitely get it checked and be very stern that you want the test that actually looks at more than 3 antibodies. I saw this post and is the reason I joined because I wanted to let you know about all that. Hopefully you get it figured out and hopefully it's something else! & hope you feel better!!!

Wow thanks Jami. Best wishes to your mom and her recovery. I am hoping to see a natropath today who has been able to detect Lymes in patients in my own area whom doctors swear there is nothing wrong with. But I will keep your idea in mind. I need all the resources I can get.

Shannon, thanks for keeping up with the posts. I'm watching you hoping you can get results. One thing that my mom taught me is even when you've had it up to here, you can still catch more flies with honey (especially when you are suffering tee hee) so keep your cool and keep your chin up girl we are all hoping you can beat this one. sucks to have TWO mystery diseases, but you're young and smart... youcandoit!!!!! hugs!!!!

My doc just recently tested me for lyme's disease among a bunch of other stuff. I haven't gotten the results yet. I still feel like crap though. I want to know what I have too I seriously doubt I have lyme's disease but something is definitely not right.

Well the natro called this afternoon and he has 2 different tests he talked about. The first is one in Cali (Jami, it wouldn't surprise me if its the same one you're referring to) that tests a couple hundred different things. But there is another, out of Texas, that tests over 500!! He says that there are nearly 150 different strains of Lymes, and doctors only test you for 13. Ha. I have an appointment with him on the 12th (soonest I could get in ) and he is going to have the initial consultation, do some adjustments (hes a Chiro too) and wants a urine test. And then we'll from there. Insurance won't cover him, and the one test is 500 bucks, but they may pay 60% because they do for some out of network doctors. He isn't an MD, so he can't prescribe any meds, however, he can give us the test results and we can show the doctors what they missed because they just didn't want to deal with me. He said this test would also be good because it would test for things I may have picked up outside the country in Costa Rica as well. I'm trying to stay hopeful, but I don't want to feel this way for another week and a half I just have to keep reminding myself, baby steps, baby steps.

A week may seem like forever, but in the world of new healthcare appointments, that's pretty fast! Good luck!
