Hi everyone,
I know from reading the endo diet and other articles that reed meat is not meant to be that good for endo.
I do try and avoid it but whenever I eat either beef of lamb fillets about 1/2hours after I get awful cramps and need the toilet.
Does this happen to anyone else?
Thanks

meldart, I haven't eaten red meat in quite some time. Nevertheless, I often get extra pains after I eat (to the point where some days I am scared to eat because I know the pains will increase). Going to the bathroom seems to relieve the pains a bit.
Loise, Motrin (ibuprofen) or Aleve (NSAID, I think) work well for me, although Ibuoprofen gives me hives. Tylenol (asprin, I think) does nothing for me. Benadryl worked once, oddly enough.

I have to keep gas aids on hand. Gas-x, Rolaids, and Tums have been the best. I like the fruity chewable tablets.

Hi, red meat. Welcome to the forum. Please take the time when you can to post your history (if you plan on staying around) in the "Introduce Yourselves" room. Lucky you, size 5!!! Congrats!

oh great... I just made a new thread somewhat similar to this, but about protein in general... It will probably be moved to this thread... anyways, I can't eat any form of protein... I just can't stand it. I don't know why it's weird.

Hi,
Interesting. I am uncomfortable after most food but red meat moreso. I'd never linked this to the endo before. Thanks for that I will avoid in future.
By the way size 5 what is that in english sizes. I'm an english 12 which is twice as big.
Well done!
Alison

I love meat but about a year ago have chosen to cut back and try the endo diet some what, not a full 100% because like I said I LOVE MEAT. Any way Red meat not only is higher in fat than poultry and fish but it also contains growth hormones and Dioxin which is thought to be a contributer of endo. Fat in meat tends to hold more dioxin so this may be a reason why so many people with endo have a hard time eating it. I am not sure, but I have read about this a few places.
