I've used it before...I dunno. I didn't really experience any relief from it. BUT I have read that it is very helpful for menstrual pain. And if I'm correct it's a non-narcotic.
I'm not sure about you, but I've already become immune to narcotics like vicodin.
Best wishes! I really hope you get some relief from it!

Its a N-SAID...Vicodin doesn't do a lot for me...but it takes the edge off and allows me to somewhat function. But I figured its worth trying. I'm in Costa Rica and can just walk in the drugstore and ask for whatever I want, so I'm taking it to my advantage to see if there's something out there since doctors can be so stingy. So we'll see. I'll post my findings once I take one.

Just to add...it also has 50 MG of Codeine in it as well (along with the 50 mg of Diclofenac). The name here is Oxa Forte

Ooh, what a nice little perk of vacation - stocking up on meds! As long as you know what you're getting, I say go for it!

I use it. I get it on prescription @ 50mg. I figured it's stronger than standard ibuprofen so i can take less of it to do the same job. I quite like it.

This is true. I had Tylenol 3's about a month ago when we were trying new meds (I took it along with Phenobarbatol Belladonna) and it didn't do anything for me. But then again, Tylenol never did. This is something new that I've never had before...so hopefully I'll have some results. I looked up legalities of bringing it back into the States. You can bring up to a 3 month supply...with when you consider it being pain medicine, that gives a lot of leeway as to what a "month's supply" really is. Plus, since I have friends down here, we can fill out a form so that I can have them sent to me in the States too. They are slightly pricey, since I'm not under the national health care system here. It was 3,000 Colones for 4 of these, which, at current price, equals about 6 bucks. But you know what? If it works, who cares. The other drug I wanted to try is Lisalgil (Metamizole). Its very popular amongst Latino's, and is more commonly used among them than Ibu. But after doing some research....its banned in the US! So it doesn't mean I can't take it here...but I can't bring it back with me. And what would be really miserable is if it did work...and then I had to leave it behind. So as for right now, I'm not going to try it...we'll see what the next 4 weeks brings. Oh one more side point...Diclofenac is commonly used for people with arthritis, and the second most prescribed use is for menstrual cramps...so who knows?

Okay so I broke down and bought the Lisalgil (Metamizole) today at the pharmacy. About 0.50 each! What's really going to be a bummer, tho, is if they work...and then I can't get them in the United States because they're banned. And if you read up on WHY they were banned...its kinda dumb if you ask me because the same thing can happen with other N-SAIDS such as ibu and naprox. Will let you know how they both work

I take a generic substitute for Voltaren and am experiencing most of the "not so common" side effects and I was wondering if anyone has been using this as an anti inflammatory and what kind of side effects anyone has experienced.

I took it for about 4 months. 2x a day at 75 mg. It only took the edge off. I could function, no stomach problems. I was taking it before I started feeling the pain. It lasted about 8-9 hours. It wasn't bad, I just needed something a little more. I just moved up to Etodolac which is still in the NSAID family. About 6 days into it, and it's really helping with the radiating pain.
