If you have been to NYC everyone has a story. If you have not been everyone wants a story. Share your thoughts of the city a hotspot you went to, a favorite landmark, store, food, or even a pic if you want, whatever you would like to share. If you have not been share what you would want to see.
NYC KERI STYLE
I just got back so here is my little travel guide to NYC. First off anyone who knows a little about me I am a black cab service type of girl. I always take it when I get off the plane and it waits for me to take me where ever I want to go. DONT TAKE IT. Spend $2.50 and take the M60 bus! Yes public transportation girls. I loved it and thanks to my hubby I did it for the first time this trip. We went thru Harlem saw it all to the Upper East side. And it was awesome. Take the subway too. I always do this even tho I am a black cab girl LOL the subway is the heart of NYC get on get off enjoy the conversations of everyone around you.
Do not stay at a chain hotel again I usually do this the Marriott has been my home for years. This time I booked a boutique hotel. The Empire Hotel by Lincoln Center. LOVED IT! The bed was not amazing but the rest was. Rooftop pool, Cabana til our room was ready, decor was very modern and best part we were not in Times Square with all the tourists!
Go to Brooklyn! Never had done this either. Walk the bridge talk to the people but stay on your side of the bridge OK if you even step in to the bike lane you will be yelled at Brooklyn Style! So watch out.
Hang out in Central Park~ This needs no other explanation~ We were two blocks from Tavern On The Green no longer opened but still nice to walk around that area. Stay near CP if you can it is well worth it.
Eat at a place that no one has ever said anything to you about. We used Urban Spoon on the Droid the entire trip. So we had no idea what or where we would be. Check out this place...http://www.antibesbistro.com/ it was so yummy I ate the entire plate of food. All endo friendly too. Except desert of course which was to die for.
The next eatery I am going to mention most of us will have to really think about. My hubby had a treat and I bought a treat for my friend for her birthday but I choose not to eat anything. It is called Magnolia Bakery. newyork.citysearch.com/profile/7117258/new_york_ny/magnolia_bakery.html
My husband raved it was the best lemon square he has ever had. The typical line is around the corner for the yummy cupcakes. We were there sunday and it was short in and out in 5 minutes. They sell the icing too so you can take it home and ice your own cakes. My mouth is watering so I must stop.
Shopping my favorite part of the trip besides taking pictures.
Vintage shop, chain stores are everywhere and if you want 5th Ave that is great too a trip to Bergdorf's is usually a must see for the window displays and if you have never seen Tiffanys go there too. I have seen those places so I did not even go on there this time I stuck to the cute boutique shops that make New York shopping fun. Another cool place I found is on Mulberry right in Little Italy it is full of new designers themarketnyc.com/ right next door is a wonderful vintage store that I got a dress for $25! I also fell in love with store called Teddys near Lincoln Center. We had to stop in Chinatown too of course a trip to the city is not complete without a little I LOVE NY Tshirt for Jacob.
Me at The Empire on my not so comfy bed.
