I was eating with my husband and my sister and her husband a double date and couldnt breath the feeling was very familar as I have experienced twice before and already had my esophagus expanded one other time. I looked at Seth told him I didnt feel right. Lost my breath turned white, lips turned blue, eyes rolled in the back of my head and I projectile vomitted on the table, floor and my sister. I of course did not see the blue lips or white face but the feeling was horrible. I got my breath back and was more then humiliated. Soon I had everyone rushing around me but I was so out of it and knew if I stood up I was going to pass out. Last time this happend the ambulance was picking me off the floor of my house in the middle of me baking cookies for a christmas party. I then was diagnosed and led off to the procedure room to be put out and get a tube stuck down my throat to open it up. Wednesday I go for my next expantion. Called nurse today explained and she put me on the books for this week. I have felt like I am running a marathon my breathing is so difficult. I have not had a meal since saturday it feels like I have stuff stuck in my throat. I am on light activity so no working out or running and since we are in a heatwave now 91 she said not to even walk outside I usually do a mile or 2 each night. I will keep everyone posted. Its a simple procedure my only issue is the meds they give me but my gastro doc is used to me he has done this procedure and my colonoscopy as well as a few other issues I have had. If I wake up not being able to talk he know what to do that fixes me. I will be off work a day or two but I went in today. It was hell trying to answer phone, look up books and wait on patrons and try to breath was so hard I just kept going tho. I feel like if Im not in a OR or in recovery I should be at work. I hate missing and at some point I am afraid they may get rid of me if I am not there. In these times no matter what your medical issues are they can try to get rid of you. I guard my job more then I do my jewelry LOL!

The closer I get to the procedure the more nervous I am getting. I just do not want to have to wake up deal with the aftermath of being under. I know it has to be done tho so I have no choice. I was ordered bed rest for the day so my mind is spinning with all the other times things have went wrong. I am trying to think of the positives like being able to breath the right way. I feel silly even being nervous as many procedures as I have had I should be ok with it.

Don't feel silly Keri! The last time I had surgery (my cholecystecomy) I had a total panic attack in my hospital bed after because of the close call I had (my hubby started CPR on me while waiting for RT guys to get in my room) on my last surgery. I couldn't breath, and was crying and totally freaked out, I even left notes for my kids (just in case) I was a wreck! I have had two more procedures since then and panicked both times even though i try and tell myself its okay. Your not silly, you have been through a lot.

Thanks girls! I go in at 10:30 am 2morrow. I am already planning what I can eat LOL! My last meal was the meal I vomitted up on my sister and the table. Oh gosh I hope they let me back in it is one of my favorite places to eat. So any ideas on what I should eat first? Remember it has to be sugar free:)

Start with something mild! If you haven't had much to eat in the past few days, your tummy might be a bit upset... Maybe some soup?

I am home resting. In and out of sleep when they knock me out its a day or two before I feel like me again. Thanks girls for all the good thoughts. Doc knew what to do with the meds from 2 previous procedures he did for me so I did well and did not have a seizure. He talked to Seth and said he dialated me again and if my symptoms return to immedietly get in so he can go in again and fix it. It was nice that when it is said Outpatient procedure that this time it really was and I did not have to be admitted like I usually do. I will keep all of you posted now I am so drugged I am having a hard time keeping eyes open to type. LOL! ttys~

Yay glad you're out and home and it went well. You inspire me with your awesome attitude... plus, I must admit, I have a very special fondness for librarians.... I imagine that you are thin, pretty, and have an intelligent twinkle in your eye! Hope you feel much better soon!

I was pushing myself to go back to work today but its not gonna happen. I still feel drugged. Doc used a Versed Fentanyl mix. I do no remember much of yesterday and nothing of the procedure. I still have not had a meal keeping fluids and popsicles down but I am very nauseous. I am breathing better when I am laying down it is easier when I stand or walk up and down steps it becomes difficult and I expereince light headed and dizzines which could be from the meds. Sore throat still but that is to be expected. When they weighed me I was down to 104 so I have to get better to eat some solid food or I am going to float away! If the breathing issue continues I am calling doc to see if it maybe something else. I am crossing my fingers that this is all I need done and not another procedure or test.
