Yesterday my husband was on my last nerve about this sugar thing he is so up and down with it. For the last few days since my procedure for my esophugas I have been sick. I couldnt eat or get up I was really out of it. On friday he brings home rice pudding. I ate it and it stayed down. I needed it I am down to almost 100 pounds 102 to be exact. I got up yesterday and felt back to normal. I explained to him the meds they gave me that knocked me out really mess with everything my stomach, my balance, my mind.....He knows this but most of the time I go in for a procedure and am admitted to the hospital on a IV so what ever would be coming up or going out is being replaced by IV. I was not admitted this time so the throwing up, fatigue and drowsiness all happend at home. I was on zofran for last few days also so when he gave the rice pudding the doses of zofran prob kicked in. He says to me yesterday you need sugar back in you diet that is what was in the rice pudding that made you feel better. Ummm NO! He just does not get it sometimes. The meds, procedure my body just cant handle that kind of stuff. Sugar is not what made me better time did! I just said I am not going to ruin my body with the very thing that destroys it. That day I needed something sugar, food anything I was starving! He is convinced now that this diet is making me sick! All I have to say now is remember the DONUT! DUH!
Helen to your question not sure but I will look into it and post something. Good carbs and sugar are in fruit I do know that. The bannana tho I have heard mixed things about. Ripe bannana's turn to simple sugar and they do have starch in them. I guess if it gives you the bloat Helen get rid of it. I have had to let go of some healthy foods too I think every body is different.

Aw, Keri, sorry you weren't feeling good! I think you're right to listen to your body and not your husband! But I can see his point as sometimes, yes, you need some quick fuel when you haven't had any sustenance for a few days! Anything you ate probably would have had a similar effect! Hope you're on the mend now, taking good care of yourself. Be sure to keep those electrolytes up!

A quick Google tells me it is the natural form. I'll be keeping an eye on it!
Hope you're feeling better Keri, you're right to listen to your body, and you know more than he does about all this!

So a lot of books mention yeast being an issue for women with endo. Don't you wonder if the sugar theory plays into all of this??

Milk and egg, too!
Anything that makes me feel like crap goes on my 'yucky' list. Makes it super easy to have a food aversion if you immediately feel pain!

Alot of stuff is yummy but I have found alternatives that are yummy and won't make me sick. I am ok without being able to eat a donut. If I want something for a treat I will eat a sugar free pudding or jello. Its not everyday tho I just do not crave sweet stuff anymore. I once had to have the sugar everyday now I just live without it and it works so much better for me. I honetsly would rather have a piece of salmon with a fresh veggie instead of donut:)

I wanted to re read some of my food stuff figure out my body a little more and some of the issues my twin sis and baby niece are having. This one was pretty profound I thought. Now it could of been my galbladder with this experiment and since having it out I have not bloated I would say fall was about the time the hurting and bloating started and got worse. The yeast that you bring up Karen was what I wanted to read about and my sis is all over researching bc of Ava and the yeast issue she has had. Thrush and reactions to everyting since she was born. So here are a few articles www.drcranton.com/yeast/wmcrook.htmMy niece is 6 months and already showing signs of auto immune and allergy issues. Has been since she was born. I keep watch on everything she is given as my sis does too. One doc says autoimmune disorder the other says yeast. Either way she has a issue. It is interesting to read about the connection. Really it is prob both but you can never get a doc to say that and as she is so little a blood test is not possible yet. She can not talk yet but when I feed her she has pain she humms it out or grunts its hard to watch and hear. My other nieces never had these issues and she has already been told she has acid reflux at 4 months! Her digestive system is all out of whack. Now it is possible all of us had these issues too but back then no info to suggest what it was to it was blown off as a fussy baby or colic. It is very interesting that after all these years my twin sis breats feeds Ava and gives her thrush. Both were treated for it but it has yet to clear and my sis has had none of her endo removed. This site has a ton of info on yeast www.yeastconnection.com/about.html

Interesting stuff. I've recently discovered a delicious wheat free bread - Paul Rankin's Irish Wheaten bread (yeah I know, strange name for a wheat free bread!). I'm going to think about limiting myself to this bread for a while, see if bloating goes down.

I ate a piece of king cake last night and a sugar donut with fruit filling a New Orleans tradition I felt I had to try again and see what happens now that my galbladder is gone I thought maybe that was the issue. Wrong! My body hates me now. I have terrible pain and a bloated belly. It has to be all the sugar and yeast, flour and all the awful stuff our bodies can't handle. I am convinced even tho my endo is now only pinpoints on my bowel that with a bad diet the pain is worse and mysymptoms increase. Its my endo I don't know what else it could be? I have to read up more on all of this and when I see my nutrtionist ask how and why this happens to us. Our bodies are so different from everyone else. A food can ruin a day or more for us. No wonder most of us are afraid to eat we can't eat most things. Sticking to all my gluteenand sugar free stuff from now on my lesson is learned:)

Could be flat out food sensitivities, too! They can make endo pain worse but don't necessarily stem from endo. Talk to your naturopath about getting tested!

This thread has inspired me to change my diet for Lent.. I am cutting out wheat, sugar, and alcohol. I don't eat red meat to begin with, and I am not cutting out milk because I could not live without cereal. It's going to be hard but you ladies are so inspiring to me.. I am going to do it!!
