It's one thing if you're not contagious, anymore, but sh*t - half of my department has been out with this effing cold, at least every day this week. Just when I thought it was all over, and I was safe, I come down with it at about 5pm, today.
My back hurts like a s0nofab1tch, and I'm freezing my balls off. I drove to get dinner in a long sleeved t-shirt, jeans, Uggs, and a jean jacket in 80+ degree heat, and had to roll the window down to get some warmth into the car.
Some jackass cost me my three-day weekend, which NEVER happens, at my place of work. EVER.
Jackasses.

Ugh, that SUCKS! I just got over a nasty one last week. Yuck.
Zicam, Zicam, Zicam! Go out and get a bottle and start taking it asap. It'll reduce the severity and length of the cold.

That damned cold turned into bronchitis and conjunctivitis, last weekend.
I was FINALLY able to leave the apartment for something besides work and visits to CVS for the first time in three weeks. Hanging by the pool was the shiz.

Just before I got referred for my 2nd surgery, I was constantly sick. I had 5 colds, a bout of flu and a chest infection in the space of 3 months that I can remember! There was no way I could stay off work as I would have been taken down the disciplinary route due to endo-related absence, plus I was on unpaid sick leave only. I was very particular about hygiene in an effort not to pass it to anyone else but for the flu I had to stay off 2 days cos I felt so awful. Thing is, my colleague picked it up on the day that I had come in sick before I went off, he was fine but then passed it to his baby son who ended up in hospital. I really regret that but it's a horrible choice to make, going in to work sick. I've not been as sick since except for some 'apparent' swine flu but I highly suggest zinc and vitamin c, 1 a day of each on top of your multi vitamin.

I take 4 or 5 x 500 mg vit c a day as soon as I feel the tickle in the back of the throat. Do that for a couple of days and then take fewer. I swerar, it either stops it completely in its tracks or really minimises the damage. Vit C is like nature's antibiotic!
