Karen do not get discouraged with food. It happens to me too do not give up. If I even break a little from my simple list of what I can eat I blow up & feel sick. I'm curious about the article in particular the autoimmunity & cancer. It makes sense for most of us. Esp. Jenaya! WoW

Dr. Oz showed a perfect pizza today for us. Portabella Pie put the toppings on the mushroom. Yummy I have to try this. l saw that Chuck E Cheese announced they were going to offer gf pizza too. I hope it is not like Dominos a lot of sick children would be running around. Wish a nice fun healthy place would open for kids. I always feel so bad that celiac children are tempted every where they go.

I actually decided to try this this week, as an experiment. I had one piece, and within 30 minutes my tummy had blown up like a balloon, pressing so hard on that painful point under my left rib, and the pelvic pain went nuts. I actually vomited twice. So, unsure if it's the gluten in the gluten-free pizza, or all the sugar/preservatives in teh sauce and everything else, or the cheese since I haven't eaten dairy in so long, or what. But I have to say, I don't recommend it, though I'm glad I did the experiment to satisfy my curiosity.

Rustymyrtle - I'm confused - what did you try - the mushroom or the pizza from dominos? I don't understand what you mean when you said the gluten from the gluten free pizza? Like contaminated from the regular flours if it was dominos you tried? Sorry you feel bad!

Thanks for clarifying! So what was the flavor like? I bought some of the bob’s red mill GF pizza crust mix but haven’t tried it yet – that way at least if you like pizza, you know it’s safe and won’t give you issues.

Bob's is not bad, but be careful- it weighs about 800 lbs when made! My husband made me some, it is quite filling.

I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction, Kristin. I tried eating (regular) pizza a few weeks ago just to see how I reacted and I, too, vomited. I don't know why I did it - I never ate pizza regularly...

funny, Karen--I never ate it regularly either. I just was curious. ugh--not again!
Glad to know that bob's is ok. We tend to make all of our own breads, but it's good to know what substitutes are good!

I get periodic deals and coupons on gluten free food through this website. It comes straight to my email. Here's the link if anyone is interested: www.glutenfreesaver.com/

Rant alert! I just saw an IHOP commercial about how they use their pancake mix in their omlets. Wtf?! I would never had known that. I find that so annoying, not just for folks with allergies but for anyone who actually likes to know what they're eating (like peeps counting carbs or covering with insulin like my husband). Grr!!
