I didn't get a lot of bruising, no, which I was surprised because I bruise really easily. But inside it hurts a lot. I've kept a pressure bandage on it most of the time cuz that keeps it from feeling like its gonna pop thru my skin. But I could tell today that things are starting to heal up a little more in there. I just have to be careful that I don't over use it because then it gets really sore.
How was removal for you?

LOL, you're thinking that far ahead already? Removal wasn't too traumatic. She had to make a larger cut than I'd expected because my body had formed lots of scar tissue around it. There was like 15 minutes of tugging to get it out, but I'd had a local anaesthetic, so it was fine. And my arm didn't ache for a week the way it did when it was inserted.

Thanks Hells...
Things in my arm look to be healing up. I have it wrapped now for the first time since I woke up because I went nearly all day with no pain, so that's good. I'm really hoping this is what will work for me. Everyone keeps asking me "Do you feel anything" and I say "No, but that's a good thing" because that means I'm not having any side effects or anything making me miserable so let's hope it stays that way.... and the telling thing will be if and when I get my period...what its like.

I hope it makes your period better! It always sounds so creepy when I say this but I'm looking forward to your period to see how you do! lol

How are you feeling on this, Shannon?

I'm on a low dose antidepressant right now because it made me so dang moody. I'm on Citalopram 10mg. I can't even tell the implant is in me, unless boyfriend tries to play with it (one of his favorite things to do). I have my period right now...the second one since I've been on it. They aren't excruciating and I don't bleed much. I hardly have to take any pain medicine, but they still are painful. I think I've just become more tolerant to pain after everything. I am losing a lot of hair like I did while on the Depo. But I don't have the severe cramping all the time or terrible headaches. I don't think its as strong, hence why I do still get something resembling a cycle and why not all the side effects. So far I guess I could say its doing pretty good. Obviously everything is going to have some downside, but its better than what I've gone thru. I just have to stay far away from wheat. I chanced it while out to dinner with boyfriend and my parents last weekend and got SO sick. Diarrhea and the whole bit. Left me pretty wiped out for a couple days. But I can't complain too much I spose.

Well, that's certainly better than where you were at a few months ago! I hope that over time, your body levels out a bit while on it. And glad you figured out wheat is your nemesis. I'm sorry it left you in such rough shape, but at least you know...

No yea that's totally true. I don't have to wonder, "Will this make me sick?" because the answer seems to be: "if it has wheat, yes." And if I steer clear, I'm usually fine. Dairy doesn't even hurt me. But even eating a small cookie will send me into fits of pain.

I'm glad you're doing ok with the Implanon and you're getting less cramping. Hopefully it'll get even better after it's settled down a bit more. I know in my case the mood swings/emotional aspect died down after about 3 months.
