Okay, so this is an "I'm old" rant.
Wednesday, I got out of the shower, and my lower back was a little sore (mother nature was due to show her ass up, any minute, at that point), and while I was drying off, I felt this weird twinge, and thought, "Oh, sh*t. I think that's going to be a big deal, later." But it wasn't at the time, and I figured as long as I was careful, nothing major would result. So, I put on my heels (mistake number one, I think), and went to work.
On my break, I was fixing my face, or something, and I dropped some kind of makeup implement behind the driver's seat of my car, so I got out of the seat, bent over the console, but I still had to stretch to reach for it. THAT, my friends, turned out to be the bigger mistake. The rest of the day, my UPPER back got stiffer and stiffer, along with my neck, and the next day, I had to go to the doctor and get massively ass-kicking drugs. That morning, I rolled out of bed, and was unable to move, really... didn't wash my hair, for fear of having to towel dry and brush it.
For the past four years, I've effortlessly injured myself, and each time, except for this past one (I caught it with prednisone early enough), it's actually been debilitating.
4 years ago: Got out of the shower, towel-dried my hair, and when I went to stand up straight, again, my neck just seized up, and I had to lie on the floor for 3 hours, unable to move... no clothes, just on a towel... and crawled to my purse to get the muscle relaxer, that didn't really help, at all... Since then, I can open/shut a window, turn my head too quickly, etc... and it's frozen.
2 years ago: Car wreck, lower back got thrown out, but it wasn't even major... but I think it was the start of the back problems... 2 months after that wreck, I lifted a bucket of mop water out of the tub (only a couple of inches of mop solution, very small plastic bucket), and threw my lower back out... went to the emergency room three times in a week.... couldn't move at all, had to have my parents' help to get up, turn over, etc.
1 year ago: Neck injury (don't even know how I did it, and my shoulder got inflamed with it)... was stranded for 2 days, couldn't drive, couldn't even type a paper for one of my classes.
WTF. I'm not even 32, yet.
