I was put on Norethindrone Acetate (generic for Aygestin) after my 2nd lap which revealed stage 2/3 endo. I've been on it about 2 weeks now. So far the side effects have been headaches, hot flashes/chills and insomnia.
I am going on vacation in 2 weeks and am concerned that this medication can cause sun sensitivity. Has anyone used this medication for endo and went on vacation? If I wear sunscreen, am I protected? Or should I go off the medicine before I go? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi there - I have not had experience with that particular drug, but have been on meds that have increased sun sensitivity. You should take extra care, especially with your eyes. It wasn't just my skin that was extra sensitive to it, I noticed that I needed to shield my eyes as best as possible. Its best that you stay on the meds and protect yourself from sun exposure as much as you can. If you are going on a cruise, note that the water will amplify any sun exposure.
Hope you have a great (and pain-free) vacation!
