I am one of those that does not usually make a resolution not any reason I just always feel like I can't stick to it so I do not make them but this year I decided to make one and have a feeling I can keep it or atleast try. I have two one is kinda out of my control but the other one is something I can do.
First resolution I want to stay out of the hospital with 3 surgeries in 2009 and a few hospital stays as well I need a break from that place. I hope to have no over night stays and only be there for blood work. Crossing my fingers on that one! A HEALTHY 2010:)
My second resolution is to raise more awareness about this disease. I have done alot of charity work for other diseases and organizations but I would like to make Endometriosis my main cause. It is time to let all hear of this silent disease and I have the control to do that and many different outlets in my community in which to do it.
Share your resolutions it is important to have something to work on thru the year.

First off, I think those are EXCELLENT resolutions. I'm with you on the endo awareness, and hope to help fund-raise in some way or another. March is endo awareness month and the wheels are turning for me already. And the hospital stays? I think that's an excellent resolution, too! I'm usually not one for resolutions, either, but I'm really looking forward to putting 2009 behind me for good, and feel that having some goals in mind will be a good start to the new year. Mine are: 1. Treat my body as well as I can - that means eat foods that are good for me and stay energized with exercise. If I lose weight, great, but my main goal is to feel as good as I can. 2. Spend more time learning how to love myself as I am, endo and any other flaws and all. I'm sick of feeling broken. 3. Paying off my debt. Finally. I was thinking about putting together a (tasteful) collage of reminders of these resolutions to frame and hang in my bathroom as a reminder every day when I'm getting ready. Sounds dorky, I know, but I always find I do better when I'm reminded of what I should be doing. I'm curious to hear other resolutions!

Karen I think that 2009 was so bad for me with my health that putting it behind me as you said and setting new goals is why this year I am making resolutions. I learned alot from being so sick. It may not be the best way to learn it but I did:) Out with 2009 in with 2010 girls....
Oh and I love your goals they sound resonable. It's the simple things in life that can make a GREAT year!

KSA - let me know if there's anything you want me to try and do this side of the pond. So few people have heard of this disease, and if they have they have no idea what's involved, so I'll get involved where I can.

Those all sound like great new year's resolutions. I don't normally do resolutions cause I never stick to them. But I have decided to have a new year's resolution this year. A lot like most of you girls I just want to feel better about myself. And the way I am going to do that is working out just to tone up. If I lose weight it will be an added bonus but if it is all muscle and no fat I dont care to weigh 140 lbs. Mainly cause muscle as we all know weighs more than fat. And I am going to try my best to stay healthy. I havent been in the hospital that much this year but I have had many sinus infections, colds, and stomach viruses.

I'm reviving this as I don't want to lose sight of what I said only just a short month ago. I think it's safe to say that resolutions are only guidelines, sometimes things are out of our control, but so far, what are your thoughts one month into the new year?

Little promises I've made to myself have helped me to keep climbing out of my black hole. It's not been so much about new year's resolutions but just putting the pain and discontent of the last year behind me. Like I disposed of the piles of pain meds that I have, and I feel a bit better without my crutch. Hoping that everyone's year is an improvement on 2009, full of little instant gratifications as well as the big slow burner type improvements that can change your life

I do not want to jinx myself with the hospital stays so I will not comment on that yet. The Endo Awarness stuff is going well. I am posting lots of stuff on here that I hope is helpful. I am also raising more awareness in my community with the hopes of getting my photography in a gallery and every year I do a Endometriosis display for March at the library I work out this year I am going to try and get it done system wide. 12 libraries would be involved:) Glad to hear everyone's updates and that a month into the new year we are all doing well.

Anyone wanna put anything down? My only resolution is to work hard to get well, properly well. It may take all year, but I'll get there!

I have a few. As 2010 is the year I got ill, I want 2011 to have some structure to it, as for most of this year I've felt out of control in terms of my health.
1. Keep to the endo diet and do more exercise - they both really help my pain and general well-being and I need to remember that. I also bought Asics trainers at the beginning of the year which have never seen the outside world!!!
2. Start an endo blog - I'm currently trying to think of a name for it (any suggestions welcome!). I think this will be great for me in terms of logging my journey and hopefully for other girls with endo to learn from my experiences and to teach non-endo sufferers about the disease.
3. Keep chipping away at the debt my ex left me with. It's manageable (just) but I want shot of it now!! 4. Sort out my pain management so I can get to work even on my most appalling days - this is probably the most important one for me, as if I can get to a job I absolutely loathe when I feel at my worst, I know I can do anything.
5. Find a new job!!!!!
In general, keep positive and focused.

Wow, it was cool to look back at my resolutions last year. I really made a lot of progress with them! For 2011, my resolutions are similar:
1. Pay off the rest of my debt (I'm much closer than I was last year!) 2. Maintain my pain, and keep researching other options and approaches to see if I can improve upon it any more than I already am. (Made a lot of progress last year!) 3. Keep working on myself, accepting myself as I am so I'd be open to having someone else can come into my life and accept me, too. (Have come a long way, don't end up in tears nearly as often as before, but acceptance is hard!)

1. Get myself repaired, or at least, mostly functional. 2. Get back into school by summer session. 3. Save for a decent, affordable car. 4. Try not to let things turn me into a huge b*tch. 5. When I feel like saying terrible things, say them with my eyes, not my mouth. 6. Keep active, and maintain decent diet (lost another 2lbs, God even knows how, since I've been sitting on my ass, for seven days). 7. Try to remember that no matter how bad things are, they could always be worse, so be appreciative of the things I still have and can still do. 8. Maintain a clean house and an acceptable appearance, whenever possible. 9. Try to keep in mind that people who are terrible, or who do terrible things, have deep psychological issues, and that they possibly deserve some pity and patience at LEAST as much as they deserve a punch in the mouth. 10. (Almost forgot this one, lol)... FIND A JOB AT A RESPECTABLE COMPANY, and never, EVER let said company (or the one I'm still at) control my life more than I do.
