Are there any Christmas movies that do funny things to you? I'm just watching the end of Miracle on 34th St (1994). This film is responsible for making me believe in Santa again at some point in my twenties. I've just balled my eyes out yet again - when little Susan walks up to the judge and gives him the one dollar bill with 'In God we Trust'. Just makes me bubble up everytime........

Haven't seen that one from start to finish - just bits and pieces of it.
My favorite is A Christmas Story. Never even heard about it until I was in college, but once I saw it, I was hooked. Christmas Vacation is a close second.

Christmas vacation is an all time classic! I just saw a christmas story for the first time a few years ago, and couldn't believe I had never seen it before! Both great classics! We used to Watch A White Christmas every year the day we put up the tree. Of course growing up in the 90's Home Alone became a annual classic too, as well as my absolute favourite, the stop motion version of Rudolph

I just got a Christmas card from a good friend of mine (she's a photographer). She and her husband have been doing goofy cards the last few years. This year? She and her husband on their front lawn with a ball of Christmas lights, him plugging a cord in, and their best Griswald impressions (in full costume, of course). On the inside is a pic from inside the tree of her husband looking at a squirrel (stuffed animal). Freaking hilarious.

I LOOOVE muppet christmas Carol. One of my favorites. Also Last Holiday with Queen Latifah is so good. We start watching all our favorites as soon as thanksgiving is over. We have already watched santa clause one and Last holiday. We go right on down the list: Christmas vacation, Its a wonderful Life, Miracle of 34th street, Christmas with the Kranks, All the santa Clauses, The christmas story, Elf, White Christmas, and a silly Bob Hope classic called Drafted!

I love The Holiday (Kate Winslet's character is a stinker though, get real soppy English woman!) and Love Actually. On the GOLD channel here, a comedy channel that shows the good old ones, they're showing a Christmas special every night, I'm looking forward to the Vicar of Dibley special, love that show. And Just Friends, not at all festive but set over Christmas and Ryan Reynolds does comedy well I think, nice deadpan foil for Anna Faris who is just hilarious
