I was just giving you crap. My, you ARE a sound sleeper! Have you ever tried melatonin? For the most part, I'm a pretty good sleeper, but I go through my phases where I'm tossing and turning for hours, for a few days/weeks in a row. Melatonin is my savior, helps me get good sleep. I know it's not for everyone, though. Fingers crossed you can get in to the dentist soon!

Yeah I like to think my cats have taught me the fine art of ignorance and sleep God help me if we ever have a fire! Usually I sleep ok, it's just the jaw pain keeping me up, then I'm so tired that I am dead to the world and a zombie when I do eventually wake. Soon as this is sorted out, I'm getting a sleeping plan and sticking to it!

You want me to call you at some point to try and wake you up? I don't think there's much worse in this world than dental pain. I had it really bad this one time (well, several, but this one in particular..), had run out of painkillers, kept awake ALL night then at about 4 or 5 am I give in, got in the car and drove to a 24 hour petrol station for paracetemol (in the days before I discovered Nurofen....). Try Liquid Nurofen, or pop to Boots and get some clove oil, it really can help. Or chew a clove. Let me know how you're doing.....hugz xx

Argh argh argh I just wrote a huge explanation about this. To avoid setting off my jaw, I will not get angry, I will make a long story short. I have bad bruxism and some underlying infections thanks to my previous dentist. Gaaaah. I am neurotic.

I grinds my teeths, and I am ruining my mouth, also my last dentist messed up a filling she refreshed and a chipped tooth that she fixed, cos I need root canals on those two teeth. Damn her and her dark eyebrows. So I need a mouth guard but we need to do the root canals first and being the NHS it will be in Janaury or Feb! Last night I picked up some tommy tippee soothers to see if it'd help me relax my jaw (that's a dummy or pacifier to the rest of us!) and I slept really well for the first time that I can remember. The teet stopped me from being able to bit down and my face was relaxed when I woke up Not so relaxed now though. I bought some ibuprofen gel which helps but it peels off like a face mask, which I didn't know, so I spent the first 20 minutes in work last night walking round with a skin like substance peeling off my face. Everyone was too nice/evil to tell me! But yeah, I grind my teeth very badly in my sleep ans sometimes when I'm awake, and also need root canals. The dentist looked sorry for me. I never knew dentists bitched about each other til yesterday!

Sounds like a nightmare. Hope the pain is easing off though!
