omg it hurtses hurtses hurtses And not to sound like a tramp but I took the first decent sounding job I could get after redundancy and it happens to be part time so I can't afford to see the dentist atm. My jaw is killing on the left hand side and swollen. It was my right a few weeks ago and now it's swapped sides. Great, plus accompanying ear-ache. I would really love to punch something that dents easily so I can feel better. Aaargh, I would cry but I'll just scream if I do. It's irritating the F*** outta me. I don't need these teeth!

Sorry Cherry you're in such pain. I to cant afford the dentist atm and have dental pain. Believe it or not...put a tea bag on the inside of each cheek where your teeth hurt. It helped me. I am very fortunate though mine is not caused by wisdom teeth however...be thankful you got them(thank right thankful) I have major issues with my teeth and they are like eggshells. My dentist said it was because i never got wisdom teeth nor will i as i dont even have the roots of them to grow. Im not saying that dental pain is good thing for you at this time but once those big suckers are out, you'll feel alot better from what i've heard.

Here's hoping! It just seems wholly worthless right now, these damn thing have been growing through for years, and every once in a while give me massive jaw ache! I totally feel sympathy for babies cos they get a whole mouthful growing through one after the other! I'll try the teabag trick thanks I always complain that endo gives me useless pain, so I think I should eat humble pie now that I have this epic pain due to emerging teeth

Cherry can you not get it sorted on NHS?? My wisdom teeth started coming through when I was about 14, had a problem with one of them which resulted in a fair amount of pain, had two out. I have to admit I've suffered some horrific dental pain in my time, and ear infections so I'm feeling your pain hun. Go get them out!! Try a dental hospital, you can usually get stuff done cheap/free. Good luck, **hugz**

Ugh, I HATED my wisdom teeth and had them pulled when I was in high school. I was so glad to see those miserable things gone. I hope you're able to get some relief soon, Cherry!

Yeah I will have to call someone I think, I didn't know dental hopsitals did low cost care? Score! My normal dentist is great and the prices are capped cos of my being on the NHS but money is super tight so I literally have to consider expenses especially with Christmas to consider. It's kicked up again, there's a little pain in my front teeth but again my left side is driving me insane, I am actually feeling really angry, the pain is that bad. I took tramadol last night which made me sick, and have nothing else to try. I am considering getting drunk so I can sleep. My right ear is just getting over an infection that started when my right side was swollen. Just when my endo pain is calming this happens!

Please go get it sorted, you might be able to pay over a couple of instalments. Maybe you'll only have to pay now for a checkup. What if you've got an infection and some antibiotics could clear it up? And deffo look up your nearest dental hospital - it'll be a student but my brother's done that a few times.

I called bloody NHS Direct, and the best they could give me was 'stop overdosing on painkillers' and 'make sure you're brushing your teeth' I'm going for an emergency appt tomorrow morning. It's bloody well doing my nut. I spent more today on products to help with the pain than it would cos for a check-up! I'm worried that this on the left is an abscess, cos it's so tender. But hey-ho I'm no dentist to start speculating so I shall drink myself to sleep tonight and go see Miss Dramatic Eyebrows dentist tomorrow.

Oh ouch! I hate wisdom teeth. The ones on the bottom are so much worse because you have a huge nerve that runs from ear to ear running along the bottom of your jaw. It's called the inferior alveolar nerve. That nerve is so big that you can see it in an xray. I'm guessing if you're having this extreme pain it's your lower wisdom teeth? On a side note, that tea bag idea is actually very excellent. Cloves are a natural anesthetic for nerve pain. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, the hole didn't heal properly and that inferior alveolar nerve was completely exposed to the open which was the most extreme pain I've ever felt in my entire life. You know what my doctor did? He soaked a piece of gauze with cloves and stuck it into the hole and I stopped having pain. No pain killers, no nothing. Just plain old cloves. I hope you get some help with the dentist appointment!

Yes these mofos are on the bottom, and your info about that nerve makes this pain make more sense. And it is pain that makes me dizzeeeeee. I tried the teabag but unfortunately it hurt even more. Just how it goes I guess, every toothache is different and needs some wacky remedy! So last night I managed to sleep sans alcohol with a nice cocktail of painkillers and a spare antibiotic in my tummy, and a home-made icepack on my face, woke when my alarm went off to call my dentist for emergency treatment and begged an afternoon appointment so I could catch up on sleep with my strangely painless face. I was honestly amazed not to be in agony again, but the downside is, I was due to be in the dentists office for 2, and woke up at 4. Oh poo. Will have to go in tomorrow and apologise! But I think now it definitely an abscess and have to wonder... how in buggery did it get there? And am I that likely to get a heart infection if it is nowhere near my teeth? (it feels like it's right on the hingey bit of my jaw) I have a tooth that has a filling in from way back when, so if they'd like to pull that to allow my wisdom teeth some space I'm down with that. My mouth is tiny inside so I'll never get wissies on the top jaw, but these bottom wissies are determined to make an entrance. And have been for about 5 blooming years!

Considering how much I've groused about this pain, I've not been to the dentist yet. I keep sleeping through my appointments! I think cos it takes so much to get to sleep, I can't get up in the mornings (luckily my job is evenings only atm) and so I miss the emergency hour. I am kicking myself, but very very lucky to have the pain subsiding somewhat. A few more days of that level I suffered over the weekend and I would have melted into a crying mess and taken anything to make it stop.
Add: My friend got his face kicked in literally when he was a kid and was barely able to keep his teeth through years wearing braces, so I feel humbled. He has to go to hospital to get hsi check-ups cos his wisdom teeth coming through is a big worry. Until last year he was scared to eat an apple! Hero!

Aww cherry, I hope you get to the dentist soon. That nerve I was telling you about, a lot of people with pain from lower teeth get treated for ear infections all the time because it makes the insides of your ears hurt. Some doctors are lame and are quick to jump on the ear infection diagnosis.
I'm glad the pain is subsiding some but still... quit sleeping through your appointments! lol

I'm glad the pain is subsiding some but still... quit sleeping through your appointments! lol I don't know if you have them over in the UK, but we have these things called 'alarm clocks'. It's a clock, but when you want it to (if you push the appropriate buttons), it will make a piercing loud noise to rouse you from your sleep. That's why it's called an alarm clock - it's a clock that alarms you of when you're supposed to wake up.

Oh if only! I have the most irritating buzzer ever, and bought it because of that. I sleep through it. I put the radio setting on, as loud as possible without busting the speaker, and not even the music or news wakes me. I have my phone alarms set with my ringtone and to vibrate at the same time (to alert me on a subconscious level?), and I sleep through them. My sis rings, and I sleep through. It's so stupid. I can't sleep til maybe 5am, then I sleep like a log. I look and feel terrible. If I find that I can only get to sleep late tonight, I will just stay up, it's the only safe way. And Jenaya it literally feels like I have an ear infection, bad news, today the pain on my right has kicked up again
