I need to vent and i hope some other ladies will vent with me....
I so badly want to wear my regular clothes again. I've had 4 prior laps and remember being able to wear my real clothes before 2 weeks. Its trying when people keep asking.."are you comfy" because i wear pajama bottoms all the time. I wore my jeans the other day and cheated. I didnt do them up and wore one of hubbys big hoodies. Of coarse i understand a hysterectomy is more than just a regular lap but my god. By the time this is over, i'll own every pair of pj's that Walmart sells. Im feeling its hard to be womanly when u have to dress frumpy.

I went around in drawstring sweat pants mostly, but was very lucky with getting back into normal clothes quickly, cos I felt so crappy about being seen in my PJs too. Can you put on some nice underwear (I know this is pot luck because lacy stuff does not mix with stitches) to feel good? Or dresses? Plus how easy are they, just throw on one piece of clothing, and you're dressed!

I totally understand how you feel. I'll be 6 weeks post-op on Wednesday. I find that a flowy dress and loose leggings is a nice put together outfit for going out of the house. Feels like jammies, but looks great with my knee-high boots. I'm just starting to be able to get into my normal sized pants that fit when I was 8lbs heavier. Hopefully, soon I will be able to get into the smaller pants soon. I have my check up on Thursday so hopefully my doctor can tell me when the swelling will be done.

I agree with bigal the dress and the leggings look really cute on and are comfy. I have been wearing alot of those with my boots too. I also went and got a few new PJS to wear around the house. The binder for the swelly belly works wonders if you want to suck everything in and try to get into jeans. My doc said I need to wear it anyways so when I put jeans on it flattens everything out.

After my lap, it was a long time before I could wear my normal stuff. I wore gauchos and my largest, flowiest black "business casual" pants for weeks. I still like the gauchos for when I'm severely bloated. Or the fattest I've ever been in my life (now). lol

So...i went to see the surgeon today, 5 weeks post-op. I started having some pain yesterday and the surgeon said it was to early for me to be having sex. He said i can start to gradually get back to my normal life of doing things such as lifting and what not. I told him i had been doing that for 2 weeks already. He said "hence the pain". I now have to go a week without sex and see him again on January 7th. He said everything looks fantastic but he would like me to wait a week for sex and when i see him on the 7th, he will discharge me.

I did get the go ahead..from my family doctor. One would think that she would of been qualified enough to do that after she had a good look and see all up inside me. Surgeon said it was prob the way in which we had sex that caused the pain the next day. O well, i waited 33 days, whats 7 more?
