Sorry to hear about your rough recovery again. I hope the urologist can sort your issues quickly. Are you still taking percocet? I've read that can contribute to retention. Take it easy and rest up, even if hubby is not too happy about it. I'll be thinking about ya.
Did you ever try the pyridium? Did it seem to help at all with the pain?

Aww you ended up having to go to the ER? aawww! I was gonna suggest a urologist but I see that it isn't an option for you on the weekend. UGH! I wonder what is causing you to retain fluid. Did they try a diuretic like lasix to get rid of the excess fluid? I don't know if that's an effective treatment for this but I figued I might as well mention it since it works for fluid retention in CHF patients. So what's the plan now? Do you have to wait until monday to get help with your bladder? Did they do anything for you in the ER besides torture you??

I did try the AZO or pyridium. It didn't seem to help with the urgency issues. Helped only a little with the pain. I'm running a low grade fever so I thought maybe it had just turned to a UTI. So i'm a lot confused right now. My uretur is very, very swollen. I'm not on any percoset. I was able to get off all my narcs and have just been using 800mg Ibuprofen. I'm peeing every ten min. and it never feels like my bladder empties and it HURTS! I just keep hoping the swelling is going to go down and that's all this was. I spent the last three days off my feet and in bed hoping that would help any swelling to GO AWAY! But now I'm going to have to get into a urulogist and see what's what???

Posted by omacklackey in another thread. Called my doctor in wenatchee first thing and they came unglued that I had left the ER and recognized that it was serious but suggested I try my local doctor so i don't have to travel clear to wenatchee. Mid Valley clinic blew me off!!!!!!!!!!! They told me the earliest I could get in was next week. I"M RETAINING FLUID AN IT HURTS TO PEE, IT COULD DAMAGE MY KIDNEYS. So I had one nurse yelling at me for going home and the other wouldn't even get me an apt. SO confused!! called dr. in wenatchee again and she is going to get the dr. to call me as soon as he is done delivering. (he''s ob and a baby is due) she is hoping he can suggest something over the phone I'm SO DONE WITH MID VALLEY CLINIC There office staff and nurses have ignored me for the very last time!! I'm happy that I was polite and didn't slam the phone down which is what i wanted to do. I just quietly explained to them that they didn't understand how serious this was and I'm sorry I didn't explain it better and hung up still kind of fuming over here... can you tell?

That sucks. Sorry. Can you go ahead and drive to the E.R. and demand an ultrasound?

got ultrasound, waiting on dr. to finish delievering baby and give me a call. I don't know who to believe. I had the nurse at the ER pretty much threateing me that I HAD to get in with a doctor today (the dr. at the ER said the same thing) and the clinic won't even make me an apt. and I have the nurse at wenatchee telling me what the nurse and doctor at the ER said which is that this is serious and I shouldn't have left the ER without getting some kind of help. Needless to say I'm a little confused. I'm sorry I started another thread. I tried to delete it but by locking it you make impossible to do that. It would be easier to just delete it. I was a little angry when I was writing so I wasn't exactley thinking straight about where it should go. Technically this should be under the bladder threads I guess.

I'd call the radiologist who read the ultrasound from the E.R. and ask that his report be faxed to both you and your doctor's office.
(I can delete the other thread.)

ok, so the dr. finally did call. I was even more confused after talking to him so that wasn't very helpful but like it or not he seems to be my only choice and I'm going to have to go the long drive to wenatchee. My hubby got his schedule traded so that's one less worry. The gyn. is going to 'look' and then if he doesn't have anything he is going to get me in with the urologist so that's good. he sounded really confused and I was trying to tell if he thought it was serious or it was swelling that is going to go away. I'm not looking forward to this apt. at ALL!
