rant--so much pain

Just over a month ago i had surgery at the CEC in Atlanta. As far as surgeries go it was a good experience. The surgeon was really nice, the nurses were great and managed my pain properly. the hospital was nice (i had my own room, which i've never had!). After the initial healing pain i was feeling good. I was actually feeling better than i had before the surgery until a few days ago.

After the surgery i was advised to take the bc pill continuously (with no breaks) for the next 3 months to allow my ovaries to heal. Several chocolate cysts and some endo were removed from both ovaries. Before i had the surgery i was taking the pill continuously, so i'm no stranger to it.

About a week ago i started spotting. I had some mild cramps, but aleve took care of the pain. Then, on Sunday (today is tuesday) the cramps started to get pretty bad. By monday they were really bad and i had to break down and take a percocet which i hate doing because it makes me feel like Sh*t. I had to take one today as well and the pain is SOOO bad. The bleeding is heavier too.

I called teh CEC in atlanta and the nurse said it is probably because of the pill. she said to call them back if it persists for 2 weeks.

I can't believe how bad the pain is. I hope it's because i'm still healing. I worry that i just went through this surgery for nothing!

Meanwhile the bills are coming in and i owe $1000's for a surgery that i think didn't work!

I'm so upset, i don't know what to think. I feel so alone. I don't have a boyfriend or husband to comfort me, and my mum lives thousands of miles away. My friends care, but they don't understand.

Oh, hugs, kiddo! I went through everything all alone, too, and my heart totally goes out to you! I really hope the pain eases up soon!!

Do you have a doc nearby that's covered by insurance that you might be able to see, perhaps rule some things out? When you're in pain like that, two weeks is a long time to wait!

Please keep us posted, and know that you're in our thoughts! It may not seem like it right now, but you ARE strong enough to get through this!!

thanks for your kind words olsenka! I know everyone here understands, it's just so hard sometimes. Especially, as i said, i feel i'm alone in this. the last boyfriend i had broke up me with a week before my last lap (not the one at the CEC, but a few years ago). it's hard not having a partner to help you through the tough times.

i don't have a gyn at the moment. i supposed i should find one.

A week before a lap? That's crappy! Yeah, it's hard to go through it all alone, and I really, really hated that I did, I certainly had a hard time with that, but when I finally started feeling better I was able to look back and acknowledge that I survived ALL THAT on my own. And you will, too! (I also realized that the guy I was missing was a dink and wouldn't have been any use to me through all of that!)

I know it's hard to look for a doc when you're not feeling well. It's hard to find the energy, it's hard to know how he/she will try to treat you, but please find a gyn so you can at least establish care! It may take a bit to get in there to see 'em, so at least try to schedule something now! Do you have any friends or family that you could ask for a referral?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I kinda feel bad because I was touting how great the CEC was!
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 90 days post-op and my adhesion pain is back worse than it was before my surgery.
On the positive side, my actual endo pain is better as I don't have the intense, deep cramping like I had before, but I can't get up from sitting down without it feeling like someone is ripping my ovary out from my body.
They removed alot of endo from my bladder and now I have the pulling pains there as well.
All I can tell you is to give it time...they told me it takes a good three months to get real relief so I still have hope.
Unfortunately there's nothing they or any surgeon can do about adhesions forming after surgery, but hopefully they can do something about the actual endo.

italialynn don't feel bad, you're not the only one that had great things to say. that's the reason i went there. after a year of researching i heard so many good things about it. maybe i'm jumping the gun, after all it's been a month. It's hard not to think the worst though when the pain i've been having this past week has been worse that what i had before the surgery!

I'd give it a full 6 months to recover before you jump the gun. Your body is still beat up and swollen!
Give yourself time...keep us updated on your progress!!
