I've got swiney. They say.
So sorry, backtrack, hello lovers, I apologise for my absence and lack of consideration in keeping you all updated, espacially other staff members.
I feel some hours like I have it, and sometimes I rally and I'm like, yeah I'll go into work for the last hour! Like an hour ago, I was doing a headstand/stretch and being made to laugh like a mofo by my bf (who considerately doesn't care if he catches it, not knowing that he's super hard work to care for when sick. His heart's in the right place though, he won't let me be lonely home alone all day), whereas this morning I half brushed my teeth cos I was just able to sit on the toilet lid, got too tired and crawled back to bed with a horribly aching joints and slight chest pains when breathing, knowing I had sweated all night but not even able to change my pajarmies, never mind shower and moisturise, then change my sheets.
No coughing, and a diminished 'but still there' appetite. Whereas last winter I felt horrible unless I wore silky PJs, had to have 2 winter blankets on and could not get through calling in sick without hacking down the phone at my boss, then I would try chicken soup and have it quickly evacuated out of either end.
I just hope all you guys are ok. I was a bit self pitying when I was given tamiflu cos it's this on top of my post op poop, and also a period (having GnRH injections and a mirena, so how?!) but I've at least been able to rest cos I know if I push it, I'll do myself in.
The funniest thing is, I have a swollen face around my nose, upper lip and cheek areas, and look eerily pig like.
I feel a little bad that I'm trying to joke about it when people are dying of it here, and everywhere else, and some people seem barely conscious cos they're struck down so suddenly and so harshly. I feel like crying with the pain sometimes, but I'm coherent and eating a small meal a day.
I'd ask for a swab, but UK docs have given up testing for it and go by symptoms alone as they're swamped with suspected cases. My local service was so busy that I didn't get a callback til 8 hours after I reported it, then 3 hours after I did a phone assessment with a doc, someone came and dropped off my meds through the post box. This was at 3am, 11 hours after my initial call.
Would be interested in any other swine flu stories. Hope to god my sis doesn't catch it as she's never been very robust with germs, we have anti-bacterial hand rub everywhere in the household
