Considering how bad some of you are doing I'm almost afraid to rant but I gotta! I'm so... hurting and my belly just aches constantly. I have only three darvacocet left and we are heading out in the morning for a seven hour drive. I'm four and half weeks post op and I can't even sit up for a very long period of time so I don't know how I'm going to sit in a car that long. I'm using ice packs because my belly is so... swollen. We are actually taking an ice chest packed with ice to keep them cold. ARGH! this is going to be a nightmare. My hubby has a Fire job test/interview and it would be great if he gets it since its back home with my family, better pay, and really good benefits. (Medical insurance comes to mind with the stage 4 endo and moderate asthma) I've got the kids packed and I'm sort of packed. I called the Nurse today and asked her if this is normal and she said abbsoltuly not so now we might be stoping half way to try and get in with the doctor except that it is his surgery day so he isn't really available. I wish I could just get more Vicoden for the trip!!

I know the surgery has taken quite a toll on you, but please do get things checked out. I know docs aren't all that keen on prescribing more pain pills, but perhaps if you call and ask for just a few to tide you over until you can see him, that might help? Worth a shot at least. Until you're able to get in and figure out what's going on, take it easy! You're still recovering, regardless of what else is going on, and it'll take a while.

That's cool that the doctor's office is at least on the way! Sucks that it is his surgery day, though.
I'd definitely try to get in to see him as soon as possible. I don't know how normal it is to be still swollen a month past surgery. Are your incisions a green color or anything? Do you have any visible puss?
I hope your pain subsides, and good luck to hubby!

Yeah, I second ouchy - you should try to get into the doc as soon as possible - that doesn't sound quite right. (When you said you 'lost your belly button' I thought oh no, it just fell off? Somethings really not right! Ha! Now I get it...)
Best of luck on the trip. You sure you're up for traveling??

Just got back... very tired! The second day was the worst and I went to bed crying. I did get in the with my doctor who said everything looked okay but I had probabaly just over done it. My period started so I think it has aggravated everything. Tony got through the first two tests easily and then had the agility. He passed with 30 seconds to spare! That was the longest day since I drove him to the test and hung out at a park until he was done. Yesterday I got chased out of mcdonalds play area where I had just gotten comfortable by an unruly 4 year old who tried chocking my 9 year old who of course would have gotten into trouble had he retaliated. I was in such a foul mood that I left before I 'assisted' the mother in her discipline. But fridays test were over by 10:30 and we then hung out at Grandma's until evening time with the family who live in the area. My family was very sweet and I parked myself in a recline position on the couch to get the weight of my tummy and a huge ice pack and stayed there without moving, except for a few minutes when I went to see my dad. I went to sleep last night in a lot less pain. The ride home today was pretty bad though until the last 2 1/12 hours I finally give in trying to keep the hubby awake and slept until we got home. My pain was so bad I had to supplement with the promethazine because I was nauseas! So glad to be home now and heading to bed!! (even though its only 4 in the afternoon.

WOW what a full week!! Congrats for your husband. And I'm really glad to hear that your doctor said everything was ok. I guess the best thing you can do now is just rest as long as you can. I didn't let myself do anything for the first two weeks even though I felt fine. I was paranoid after reading so many stories of women who thought they were fine then over did it and set back their recovery. Today I tried to throw a ball and I felt this rip pain in my stomach. Still not 100%!! But thanks for the update. I was starting to worry cause I hadn't seen you post in a while!!
