How can I find one who specializes in endo in my area? I called the ACOG today & they told me to look for a reproductive endocrinologist. Is that right? I'm not having fertility problems, but undiagnosed pain that started when I stopped taking bcp 2 years ago and was not present while I was pregnant. A few weeks after my first postpartum period, it returned. I had a laparoscopy & they found adhesions on my intestinal wall & 1 small spot of endo. As far as I know they didn't test the adhesions for endo, they just cut them off. The gyn told me endo wasn't the cause of my problems. I'm looking to take my photos of the lap for a 2nd opinion & don't want to waste my time with someone unfamiliar with endo.

I do not know what to tell you. It has been my experience that no one is a specialist--at least not where I live in Alabama. I was having painful periods every since my cycle started 20 years ago; a friend suggested that I ask for an ultrasound--not my doctor. I said that to say regardless of who you decide to see you will probably have to make suggestions, press for tests, etc. Sorry to be do doom and gloom.

Hi, I started off with my gyno. He sent me for tests and then eventually had me see a specialists in Montreal. Maybe if you have an infertility clinic near you, then give them a call. They may be able to recomment a doctor that specializes in endo. Afterall most people that go to infertility clinics is because they have infertility issues caused by endo. Maybe they can direct you.Just a thought !
