Hello all,
I am new to the whole endometriosis disease. I may or may not have it. My biggest symptom is unexplained left ovary pain that will go on throughout my whole 28 days cycle (only on the month I ovulate from that side) and it peaks at ovulation. To me, this didn't sound like endometriosis BUT my endocrinologist would like to do a lap as DH and I have not had any success TTC for 2 years now (he also has MFI). Other possible symptoms include very painful cramps (NO amount of advil will help), spotting for several days prior to cramping day (sometimes as much as 8), and (sorry of TMI) passing lots of material during AF.
Anyway, for the first time I finally caved in and took endometrin (progesterone) during the luteal phase. My left ovary had been doing its usual pain thing until 2 days after my first dose of crinone (I started on that and then was switched to endometrin). So suddenly 4 days after ovulation, the pain basically stopped. Here's my question, IF I have endometriosis, is it possible that the progesterone helped it in some way? And/or has anyone experienced the kind of pain I describe with their ovary(ies). Thanks for any info!
Nicole

I don't know how much progesterone cream has to do with endo. If you read the Clear Passage thread on the Natural board here, you'll get my full story. I too spotted for up to 9 days and went on progesterone to help me conceive. My spotting started after being on the pill for 3 years (2 year break) and then 5 years. Before the pill I didn't have any spotting. I had a lap to check everything out and clean up some endo. The spotting was reduced to 4 days after the surgery. The scar tissue from the surgery caused terrible pain after a couple of months and I went to Clear Passage therapies to alleviate the pain. After a week of therapy my spotting went down to 2 days. I then went for acupuncture for 10 months. My spotting finally went away and the color of my period which had been deep red (brown during the spotting) turned to bright red (the appropriate color). I too passed a lot of material during my period but when my period finally turned bright red, I stopped passing material. I also got pregnant and miscarried. When I came here Ouchy advised that I revisit progesterone. I got pregnant and am 6 months. So I don't know if my story will validate any of your symptoms, but taking progesterone (at the right time) won't hurt.
