Well I went to get a 2nd opinion from another gyno not sure what to think. The Dr thought it might be a hernia and it might be??? I have been told that before. I did not like the gyno at all which was not comforting. I am scheduled for a Lap on March 8th. I am not sure if I am going to do it. If it is a hernia...it will just be a waste of pain, time and money. I have a call into a general surgeon who I went to a few months ago. I am tired, sick of pain, sick of the drugs and really lost right now!!!

Hi Trish, Sorry that you have not got the answer to your pain as yet Did they suggest that the lap would show (if it is) a hernia or is it to rule out endo. Before I was diagnosed with endo my Dr had presumed it was a number of things and I was actually sent to the hospital for a totally different matter, but I had been in so much pain that I agreed to the investigation lap. I have to say I was glad when it actually was diagnosed but I do realize that it is a big decision and you have to do what's right for you.

awe trish!! too much going through your head at once... Please don't be discouraged about not getting the right answers, and please don't miss your opportunity to have the lap done. Even if it is hernia they will fix it for you! What if there is endo in there too?? Regardless, I think that the doctors who will perform the lap will be more than experienced in what to look at, and at this point whatever they can do for you is better than the condition you are in currently. I know how overwhelming it can all be - why can't anyone just say 'it is this and I am 100% sure of that'... medicine doesn't work that way. I also understand how frustrated you are feeling right now... Maybe trying to do some research on hernia and the lap will ease your mind in the sense that they can see so much more! Also, if you prepare yourself to make sure everything is covered (I am talking about your pre-op appointment - tell them exactly what you want looked at). Now is your time to take control of this! Take it in your own hands and demand it be looked after. We all know that pain is not something that happens for no reason... you are no exception...

Thanks ladies!!! This is really hard to deal with. I had to wait almost 2 hrs to see the Dr who I have been waiting to see for 5 weeks then I was just sick of being there.....long day. I did not really like him and his bedside manner.
I like and trust the general sugeon more than the gyno so I will let him decide on the lap with the gyno or surgery with him. I do not know if a gyno can repair a hernia???
Your words really help!!!! This is really depressing and I just feel like giving up!!!

Dont give up!!!!!! Anything that potentially can help the pain is worth doing, nothing is truly a waste. Either way you'll come away with answers, even if its not the answers u want. There is always hope, dont give up
