So I have been doing this it will be one year in June. My cramps weren't as bad at first but I have noticed they are slowly increasing even with bc. My mom said that I shouldn't be doing it continuously for that long and that when i do quit my body is going to be complete mayhem. Im scared!

I took continuous bc for a while back in the day.. it doesn't hurt your body to do so, your body doesn't NEED to menstrate. however, once your body becomes used to it, it might stop working as well. All you probably need to do it switch what kind you are taking. I would talk to your doc about it.

It does hurt your body in that B.C. pills (whether taken continuously or not) kills cervical crypt mucus cells.
Once I quit (and also others I know who quit), my cervical fluid was like a weird jelly and burned at ovulation. Took about 1/2 a year for it to not burn and become fluidy.

I was the same as ouchy, having taken continuous rounds of the pill to ward off a period I ended up with the weirdest goings on down there. We had quite a joke about it once as it is shocking how much the pill can mess with these little cells. I also found that hormonally it was like winding me up like a jack in the box, so that I sometimes felt as if my PMS was just building, then I'd have a period and the pain would be pretty bad sometimes. This varied for me between pills, don't be too worried tfaith your body will only be having a little shakedown if you do break from it. As for the building pain, speak to your doctor. I'm living proof that endo can continue on it's own merry way with hormone therapies. Get yourself checked out. Have a break whenever you want to

^Oh yah. Endo also continued for me through continuous hormonal treatment, too. Both of my laps were while I was on continuous BCP's!

I didn't take continuous bcp as in never having a period, but I did take them for 4 years straight. I still think that was one of the worst decisions I made for my body. Of course at the time I didn't know I had endo and I was taking them to prevent pregnancy (my husband wanted to, I wanted a baby). After I finally got off them my cycles which were always perfect before had degenerated very badly. I don't know if I have ever met anyone else who this happened to but I'm sure somebody else out there had this happen. My periods started off with days of spotting and got so bad that I started spotting up to 9 days before my period began. It took surgery, intense physical therapy and acupuncture to help correct whatever it is that the bcp did to me. I will never recommend them for birth control, perhaps for pain mitigation but not for birth control. My mother in law who is a nurse and never had any female problems like I've had (in fact she got pregnant on bcp) told my dh they were fine and didn't do anything to mess you up hormonally. With some people that is no doubt true, but why use oneself as a guinnea pig?
