I have my post-op appointment in a few days, but I'm curious what others' experiences have been postoperatively. (I didn't put this in the Operation section because I'm curious about general disease progression after treatment.)
I've had my laparoscopy and had Stage 4 endo removed, so now what? Since endo just grows right back, will I have to be checked every so often? Will I have to undergo routine ultrasounds to check for more chocolate cysts?
For those of you who have had multiple surgeries: Did you have another surgery because of recurrent pain? Or because of abnormal ultrasound or vaginal exam findings? Or do you have surgery every so often as a precaution?
After surgery, do many women get put on Lupron or other drug treatments? (I'm not going to take it.)
I'm curious about what stage everyone is (as far as they know) and what their experiences have been with endo growing back after treatment.

Hi, Cheryl. I am stage I, I think. I know it is considered "mild." I've had 2 surgeries, and I had my second surgery due to return of that ever-so-familiar pain, especially w/ menses.
I had negative findings on both vaginal digital exam and all ultrasounds--both transvaginal and abdominal.
Many women are either put on Lupron, B.C. pills (or similar hormonal treatment), told to get pregnant, or watch-and-wait.
My experience thus far has been that I feel return of pain full-on w/in a year. Everyone is different, though.
