Hey girls, so since I've been diagnosed with endo the veins on my legs have only been getting worse. I've got terrible varicos veins and sometimes my thights feel brusied! Often I'll get a huge black and blue that comes from no where. My mom says its when a vein breaks. I'm not starting to get them randomly on the calfs again - greenish/blue/purple bruises that just pop up!I had originally thought it was due to the birth control I was on, and after I came off of them the veins went down quite a bit. I'm off all meds and having my first real cycle in a longggg time. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it? Does anyone else have this problem? Oh, p.s. - my iron is awesome My dr makes fun of me whenever he takes blood and checks my iron cause apparently its perfect? Yeah.

I get that, too, but I DO need to have my iron levels checked. If your levels are fine, I don't know what it could be. My friend had that as a first sign of leukemia, but I DOUBT you have that!

That's why I'm confused! lol I don't bruise easy. Like, let's say I bump into something - I never bruise! But my legs? I'm just a freak of nature!

When I was coming off my hormone injections, I went through a few months when my legs were constantly black and blue from bruises. Like you, I dont usually bruise easily from bumps or anything, it was confusing me abit, but then I was put back on the injection again and i stopped getting bruises. Saying that im also anemic and there was about 4 weeks that i didn't have any iron, i wonder if that was the cause. . . . not sure....suppose i haven't really been much help. Sorry lol

Hi, How big are the bruises? Are they related in any way to anything resting on your legs or bumps? I had lots of small/medium sized blue/purple bruises last year (upper thighs)for a couple of months and had coagulation tests which revealed that my blood clots more slowly than usual (which makes sense because if I have cuts they take a long time to stop bleeding and I've also had major postoperative haemorrhage). They talked about sending me to haematology but I haven't yet been... I also noticed when I stopped Zoladex that I had huge bruises on my thighs, and am convinced that this time it was due to changes in blood flow and the way blood vessels constrict once oestrogen levels increased again after the injections wore off. Bruises alone are not usually cause for concern, but if you've had other problems with prolonged bleeding or lightheadedness, it would be a good idea to have this checked out.

i get obscene bruises on my legs. sometimes arms too, but mainly legs (even butt). no clue where they come from, can't remember bumping into anything. the times when i do bump into something, well those are horrible bruises. i did mention easy bruising to my various doctors - none have commented. i do have low iron though, so not sure if that is the cause or not.

Glad to see I'm not alone... can't believe how many things I exeperience other people with endo do to... never thought it was related... Oh and yes if you haven't guessed I get these weird little bruises on my thighs :s pretty small for no reason and I don't bruise easily, but found I have a tendency to bleed on. I had a coagulation blood test a few months back and that came back normal!? go figure?

I've bruised easily all my life, and never had a problem with iron. When I give blood and they do the test the drop of blood plummets to the bottom.

I don't think bruises are caused by endo as such warboy27, I've found that I have weird spidery veins that appear when I'm on certain hormone treatments like GnRH.

Are you all talking about bruises or livedo reticularis? (Look up pictures on google images to compare.) I get a similar "rash"--if that's what you want to call it--on my lower abdomen and upper thighs when I'm hurting with endo. Does anyone have anything similar or know anything about this? My doctors have no clue...
