I went to my new internal medicine doctor, told her my life story and she seems to really want to help. she is going to get me with a nutrionist and a new gyno, along with helping my stomach issues.
Something in my blood was at a low count {can't remember what it was} so she wants to do full blood work on me this weekend. Checking my thyroid, B12 and some other stuff. Apparantly even though I take a b12 supp daily, my body is not holding it in correctly....strange.
Just wondered if anyone has heard of this, or if it is common with endo ladies...
thanks

I have not heard about this. But I checked the symptoms and they are quite similar with the ones when you have endo in your diaphragm (do you?), I do but I was never mentioned this condition. It would interesting to know what it that they found low in your blood since I had some blood work done and also have a couple of things low (white cells and iron). Keep us posted.
wow, i have never heard of endo in your diaphragm....seems like that stuff can get anywhere! the only time i have had a lap to where they can see the endo was during my diagnostic surgery...back in august. they didn't remove any and said it was in my pouch of douglas i believe. i am getting all of my medical records this week so i can check up on some things. then i get the blood work this saturday, but i don't think i will have results until my next appt with her....
what kind of symptoms do you have with the endo in your diaphragm?

symptoms for me where referred pain to my shoulder (pretty bad) and sometimes some chest pain and Nausea (this last ones pretty common for any endo anywhere). But if they did not mention this to you, then you probably dont have it in there, don't picture it, keep positive! mine was pretty obvious and it is quite rare and my doctor has a video of my lap that he uses at his teaching in the university, I was stage 4. Now my annoying pain is on my hip so I am guessing it could be referred pain again but from my abdomen area. Not sure yet. Keep me posted about your results...
I too have a hiatal hernia. It was diagnosed through a scope while they were checking for symptoms of acid reflux. It can be really painful, I went to the emergency room 2 times thinking I was having a heart attack. The hiatal hernia causes a bunch of acid backup which after a long amount of times can cause you to have esophogial spasms (which is the main cause of the pain from how my doc explains it!) I have found that if I manage my diet, then the pain is virtually non existant. It is also important to remember not to panic when the pain starts, that only makes it worse! I don't know if there is a link between this and endometriosis, but I have both as well!
well i do not know much about it yet, i have to go back at the end of the month after blood work. i have had that feeling a couple of times, and if i can't catch my breath i start to freak out....its weird. i don't even know what stage of endo i have (because my gyno is no good) have to wait on finding a new doctor before i get any further info....all i know is that i have a lot of problems in my mid section area!!! hate it!

I have a hiatal hernia as well. It was diagnosed through and endoscopy when they were checking for other problems. It can be painful and uncomfortable, and when I exercise it sometimes is hard to breathe. It is a little freaky but I have gotten used to it. They told me that they wouldnt do anything for it unless it really got big enough to where it was affecting my breathing and a daily basis.
You might try watching your diet. I know that this sounds so simple to such a painful problem, but with my hiatal hernia, I get ALOT of acid backup. Things that I did not even think would make me get an acid attack have. Lettuce is one really weird one. It is really hard for your stomach to digest lettuce, and so it can cause a lot of pain. Orange juice---Big Big NO NO!! Pasta sauce, juices, and sometimes depending on what you have had all week, anything at all can bother it. I have really stuck to what I can and cannot have, and it has helped me immensly. One other thing that I found out, was that I had a gull bladder full of gull stones. I had an emergency gull bladder removal surgery, and alot of the pain left with that.
Seriously though, watch your diet really close and chart what makes you feel worse and what does not. Exercising can cause mine to flare up as well, because of all the jostling around. Try not to eat to close to any really exerting motion. I had to result to eating alot of carbs for the first few months!
Next time you feel the pain coming on, try this: Eat something like a piece of bread (small portions) or cracker and then find someplace to relax until the pain goes away, alot of times I panic, and that makes things really worse! I hope that I have been of some help, I have been battling with this for more than 10 years!!!
Stay on your doc!! You never know what kind of underlying problems there are in our lives! He/she will be your best resource.
last surgery i had a illingual (lol too lazy to start a new thread) hernia and i sware i have another one. its the SAME damn pain. what doctor do i go see and HOW do i convince them to do tests on me? Last time i had no physical "lump" to provide evidence that i actually had a hernia. It did show up on an MRI, but the stupid Effing doctors at the ER didn't know what it was an just thought it was my ovary. UGH. do i go back to the surgeon who fixed it the first time? do i go see a hernia specialist? anything i can do to calm a hernia? I have no time off of work so sugery until january is out of the question. I'm dying at work and i really want to crawl under my desk. I'm Miserable (yes, with a capital M). any advice? most doctors just think i'm self-diagonising on the internet.

I actually have two inguinal hernias. One on the left and the other on the right. The CEC said they shouldn't cause any pain and they left both of them alone. Did you have bowel pushing through one of your's I assume? I'm sorry they're causing you pain!
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
it was on one they repaired last year. I'm not sure about this one. I have an apt with the surgeon who repaired the last one tomorrow at 8:45. I think im just going to demand an MRI.
