hello ladies...
so as i have heard, many ladies with endo have a lot of stomach problems as well. i was told by a family doctor (and after a colonoscopy) that i had GERD, IBS, an ulcer and gastritis. no polyps or anything of that nature in my intestines.
this past week, i started having really bad pains right around my belly button and towards my left side. it felt like i was shot in the stomach by a shotgun or something, the pain is kind of hard to explain. it didn't get better after eating, and i even took 2 muscle relaxers and that didn't help. i went to urgent care only to hear the doctor tell me that "someone like yourself should really go to the ER or a specialist. it sounds like your IBS to me, but we can only do so much, we are just urgent care".....WHAT?
i am still on the hunt for a legit obgyn, so there is not luck talking to that doctor of mine. i do have an appt with a new doctor for my stomach issues....she is internal medicine and i have heard great things about her....but i am just scared that she too will not be able to find the cause of my pains.
i know endo causes a lot of other problems, but if so why would it be so hard for doctors to find it?
does anyone have any other stomach issues, or can help me with figuring out what may be causing my pains? i figured during the endoscopy and colonoscopy they would have found something to pin it on. i don't know that endo could to this one, because it wasn't really in my uterus area.
any help?
thanks!!!!

Hi tfaith, It took over 5 years for the doctors to diagnose me with Endo, they told me for years that I just had bad wind and at some points the told me that it was IBS that was causing me the pain. My first laporoscopy was exploratory and even after them draining almost 14lb of blood caused my internal bleeding in my pelvis, they told me that they didn't see any endo. Didn't occur to them that obviously something was wrong with the amount of internal bleeding i had suffered. it was over a year before they gave me another lap to then discover that I have severe endometriosis. So dont give up....persist persist persist.....most dr's cant be bothered with endo but make them know that you aren't standing your pain.
Whether its endo or something else, I hope you get it sorted.
Good luck x

thanks so much. i have been so down and frustrated lately, just because i feel like no doctor is taking me seriously. the only thing i keep getting is 'clinical trial study option' or lupron. i don't want to do either. i know i cant have my cake and eat it too, but i don't really like taking chances with all of these 'new' drugs, where the side effects are really bad as well. there are so many things that run in my family, that it just concerns me. when i am having bad pains and getting no help or advice... i have an appt with a new internal doc on feb 4th, i am hoping and praying she helps me at least with my stomach problems. i am still on the hunt for a better gyno. it just gets so expensive!!!

I have had stomach pains for years - my main complaint really. I don't have the period pain many of you have, though I have stage IV endo. I wen to a GI doc yesterday and she feels very confident that I have Gastroparesis. Basically my upper belly hurts pretty much whenever I eat, and really bloats up. Eventually it will go down. So my main complaint has always been 'digestion'. I booked a 'gastric empty' test for April 1 and that should tell me if she is in fact right. Maybe do a web search for Gastroparesis and see if your symptoms match up. She did not feel my stomach problems had anything to do with endo...I am not sure I agree. But we'll see!
