I went to the urologist as instructed by my gyn specialist (Dr. Nezhat/Atlanta) and he, in fact, did find a "urethral cyst". Dr. N wanted me to have that checked so that he could coordinate treatment and surgery rather than scheduling to do it at two different times. Makes sense.
Anyway...it through me for a loop that he found the cyst! I'm glad it was found - but weirded out about the whole thing....seems all of me is breaking.
I guess I'm just curious if any of you have had a urethral cyst - I'm having a hard time when "googling" it....more info on males than females. The urologist said it could not be done via lap which really threw me. Any info would be appreciated....DN

How did your urologist find your cyst? Through an exam or diagnostic test? I do not know anything about them but I have been to a urologist before I ever saw a Gyn. Do you have urethral symptoms?

Well, first Dr. Nezhat (gyn specialist) found it....during manual exam....sent me to the urologist and he didn't find it right away - but continued to "look" since Dr. N said he felt one. After he found it he just kind of starting blowing me away with "we've got to do surgery and cut that out" talk and I went into info overload (as always) and can't even remember everything he said. I have LOTS of pelvic pain (likely endo and adhesions), this cyst, bladder leakage....blah. Thanks for asking...and if anyone has any info on it - please advise. DN

I went to a urologist for a cystoscopy to look for a urethral cyst, but he didn't find one. The only thing I know is that the urologist told me that usually with a cyst, you'll have "bubbles" of air escape through the urethra. They didn't find a cyst during my cystoscopy. Sorry. That's all I know about the subject.
