Does anyone find that with pain or fatigue or nausea, you sometimes don't feel that you can bring yourself to eat? What foods do you find to be a good solution when that happens?

I did, and lost a lot of weight as a result. I have strange eating habits but at least I'm eating now! Anything at all that pops into your head that you fancy eating, go for it. It can set you off. also in the mornings try to get a breakfast, possibly something like cereal cos proteins fill you up. With cereal and toast you get hungry again pretty quick. I always give in to my cravings and it makes me eat a lot better! Plus I figured that your body must want it for some reason, just like if you're pregnant xx

I have a terrible appetite these days, some days i barely eat and have to force myself to have what i have.
There are some foods that i can eat alot easier than others when im like that. Yoghurt, nuts, dried fruit, fresh fruit (especially grapes), are all a pretty good option for me and keep me eating when i otherwise wouldnt.
I sometimes look at food and want to vomit, but i think sometimes its the nature of the food, high fat foods tend to be the worst when im like that, so it could be my own body guiding me in some ways.
I try to keep foods i like and know ill eat in the house to ensure there is something likely to tempt me. I have become a very fussy eater these days, which is an extreme change from what i used to be.

When I'm in pain my appetite is gone. I try to eat simple things. It can be hard because when the pain gets really bad the nausea starts and I can't eat. I have always been one of the people that if I'm not hungry I can't eat. The morning are the worst for me. ( No I'm not pregnant lol). It just takes forever to get hungry. I'll wake up and 5 hours later I'm still not hungry. I will then force myself to eat because I know I need to but my stomach just won't agree with me.

I used to crave ice cream when I would have nausea from a headache. Unfortunately, now I can't have that type of sugar! I pretty much eat protein and whole-grain carbs.
Sometimes, I can't sleep if I am hungry!!! I used to get up and make spaghetti. LOL <--can't do that anymore, either!

Something I have learned about my body these last few months is that I will convince myself I am not hungry because during my period, any digestive movement is extremely painful. I understand now that not eating encourages the pain or, that by eating the right things I can help alleviate pain. Eating the wrong things that are difficult to digest, can make the pain worse. The rest of the month, I try to eat, even when i am not hungry, because I need to get my pain relief/strength to endure the pain from my food.
As for the nausea, mine comes from the extreme pain that I have the first couple of days. I don't eat when i am nauseous. I generally try to sleep. Sometimes though, the nausea is from a combination of not eating and extreme pain.

well I am almost a year late on this conversation. But this has been a big problem for me lately. In the last few months I have lost 15 pounds because of the pain I have been in. I didnt need to lose any weight at all. I just feel so bad I dont feel like doing anything including eating. I try to eat when I can. Because I know I need to eat something. I have had my gallbladder (5yrs ago) removed and I have not been able to eat anything high in fat or greasy. I am also trying to follow the endo diet which is cutting out sugary foods, wheat and other things.(I have done this for a month or so and It has helped me not to get sick to my stomach so much! I actually havent had any stomach cramps or diarrhea since I started it. That is a record for me!!) I tried taking Lexapro but it made me nauseous among other things that didnt help my situation. My dr just put me on cymbalta. He said it might help me to feel better so maybe I can feel like eating. I have only been on it a week and a half. I am hoping for some improvement. I havent had any side effects from this one so hopefully... ! I think this is the first time in my life I have wanted to gain weight! Does anyone have any new suggestions??

I've been there and what it worked for me was to have snacks all day. Eating every two hours, like I would eat my breakfast (yogurt + rice cake with almond butter) and then after approx 2 hours a handful of baby carrots, other snacks that usually have are nuts, like almond with maybe a piece of black chocolate (70% cacao), other snack could be an apple, avocado, etc. Also you may want to get into the endo diet slowly, if you change all of the sudden then your body can get pretty weak, it happened to me. So you may want to cancel those foods but maybe in a per week bases. I also have a good home made cup of soup every day, I cooked a big pot during the weekend and eat during the week. You want to make sure that during your meals you get some protein, like fish, some carbs like rice (whole grain), some greens and veggies, etc. Also at the beginning until my body was better I supplemented my diets with supplement, like multivitamins, etc. These are some of my tips as per my personal experience. Hope it helps!

I am going in for surgery in 4 days, I have lost 10 pounds, feel terrible all the time, burping, strange bowel movements...very soft. Is weight loss a symptom of endo???

No, im pretty sure its not a symptom, however problems with appetite dont seem too uncommon when i look at the women on here. I imagine if youve got appetite probs weight loss is a bit of a given.
Also if there are bowel issues, its possible you also have absorbancy issues, which would also lead to weight loss.
I will add too loss of appetite is a symptom of pain, and its a sign used when studying animals.

I also lost a lot of weight while going through endo pain last year. I had no appetite, and eating more than a few bites made the pain worse, so I could only eat a little bit at a time. Now that I'm pregnant, I have a lot of weight to gain to keep the baby healthy, and I'm finding it really hard. Nothing seems to stick to me!
Also, a lot of women here say they lose weight when they go on the endo diet, but that seems to be because they are usually switching from higher-calorie, higher-fat foods to healthier foods. Still, if you're already underweight, be careful! As I got thinner, I felt weaker and couldn't do as much to handle the pain.
